I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

If anyone cares, as of right now we have 125 ballots.

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

I oppose slumbernutting for anything that doesn't have three zeros in it. Seriously. It's stupid and it sucks bandwidth and time for us all.

Big ol' fucking wrod.

This is something I want to re-bring up as soon as we've stopped talking about how we're going to talk about things and we've actually started talking about them. Because, you know, when it's a new thread, and after having counted off the first fifty posts, people are still going for 200 and 202 and 222 and 252-- it starts to wear thin.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ahem. Numberslutting for 6000 is no uncooler than slutting for 6666. (Less, if you want my complete honesty).

Maybe you want less slutting, but if you only slut for what you like, and me for the ones with the sixes and Nilly for the ones with seventeens, well, nothing's changed, has it?

A general recommendation against slutting is one thing, but trying to uniformly mandate the sheer beauty of digits? Pure evil. Never going to fly.

t dignified

I've only ever slutted for 10000.

No, seriously? Raise the standards for a slut. The signal-to-noise ratio is getting, to my mind, really fucking annoying.

Seriously? There are no standards for a slut.

And that works on more levels than I'd intended. But honestly, how can there be? It's a silly frivolous thing. Recommending against is one thing, but the idea of truly cool numbers is imposing subjectivity and taking it oddly seriously.

No, of course I don't mean we make proscribed numbers for slutting. But I'm asking that there be a little more self-restraint exercised, because I feel there's sometimes more empty slut than there should be.

You see the irony inherent in that, though?

Me, I opine -- don't slut without an orgasm -- let's have some content, people! Jizz! Jizz!

Thanks for all the fish.

Remember the porn counts? Remember all the people putting in extraneous porn? Numberslutting is the new porn. People will get tired of it, or at least will tie it to more substantial posts.

What? In asking people to restrainedly slut?

It's very funny. But-- content, that's exactly what I'm saying. Append a note to the bottom of every otherwise-interesting post explaining why you love that post number so much, certainly. But a thread that just goes, "Slut!" "Slut!" "Slumbernut!" "Companion!"-- gets annoying.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Ah, such are the ways of numberslut fandom. It starts out, and you're part of a select few that are privy to the ways of numberslutting. You enjoy numberslutting. You sign on to numberslut message boards and natter about numberslutting. You go to a few numberslut cons. Then, there's a whole rash of articles on numberslutting, and the next thing you know, everyone's doing it, and it's just not as cool as it once was.
