Morning sunshiners. Should I delete the links page at BraveNet (aka go.to/buffistalinks)? I kinda want to, just because I'm a inveterate thrower-out, like my mom, and because it's not used that much so it's slightly less essential as a backup.

A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

My problem with a politics thread is that it isn't going to stop politics from arising in Natter. I guess when they do, someone can say, "let's take this to politics" at which point probably 2/3rds of the participants will stop participating.
On the full disclosure front, I would be highly unlikely to subscribe to another thread, esp a politics one. But that doesn't mean that I dislike it when a political discussion arises. So in other words, I'd be one of the 2/3rds that I think would stop debating once the subject moved to a more heated atmosphere.
Jengod, I'd delete it. It's not like it'll be staying current with this one.
Anyone want to go over the links page with a fine-toothed comb? I just cleaned up a little, but I'm sure stuff is outdated.
Also, EVERYONE should feel free to add sites, or to suggest categories and reorg. Don't be shy.
I can tell you, for one, that the Angel and Buffy music pages are together now on a new page. I forget the addy, but there's a redirect up.
where's the cat/LotR/Hugh Dillon-lovers thread?
OK, I read this as slash, and was WAY raising an eyebrow...
I'm scared of a politics thread, and would avoid it and hope none of it would spill into other threads, but if people really want it, go for it!
Wow. People are going to avoid the politics thread like we'll be extolling the virtues of pedonecrophilia there all day.
Gar, I think it's just you and me with the interest, so let's give it another day to see if anyone else is on board. If not, I give up, because making a thread for two people sets a terrible precedent.
Wow. People are going to avoid the politics thread like we'll be extolling the virtues of pedonecrophilia there all day.
This is just my opinion, but I can't see a polite-flame-free politics thread as eventually being anything more than a string of "well this is how I think and this is how you think and I guess we'll never agree" posts, which doesn't sound particularly interesting. But hey, prove me wrong.
Oh, I didn't mean to imply that people were somehow wrong by avoiding the thread, nor do I imagine that a flame-free politics discussion is everyone's cup of tea.
At any rate, I have successful flame-free politics discussions every day. Whether or not they're interesting to others isn't really my decision to make.
Jen - I think you are right. We''ll wait and see if there is interest, and if not we can go on having flame free discussion on poltics in natter, and the people who find it uncomfortable can just go on ignoring them.
