Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Last night msbelle and I watched Angel on tape together at 10 and chatted on AIM about it. People could do that, too.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Could the West Coasters set up a regular IRC chat that would allow them to watch & post, and then archive that into a web page?

Instead of this, they could go over to the NAFDA Diaspora thread over at peoples forum, or we could reopen the WX NAFDA forum for west coast post-n-watch parties.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think there's any win (excuse my language, I'm posting from a meeting) to outsourcing the thread. If there will be a separate one, it might as well be here.

We want to have minimal other logins required to play.

No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

One issue is there'd have to be a couple of watch-n-post threads, right? One for eastern and central, one for pacific.

Not at all. No one would read the earlier watch-n-posts, because they're ephemeral and kinda boring.

Yeah, and I think that a watch-and-post thread, that is not also used for discussion, would look really silly, like so... Sort of dadaist, but not altogether substantial.

That is exactly why watch-n-post doesn't belong in the main thread.

Too blanket. I read them, and I am not bored by them.

Dunno about other folks, though.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

That is exactly why watch-n-post doesn't belong in the main thread.

You say this as if it's obvious to everyone. I like it. And I'm someone who's on tape delay for both shows.

Swouncing

I read them, too. And I like them (the million-posts-in-a-row that screamed 'GILES!' last season, for example).

Then again, I'm the only-read-episodes-descriptions kind of spoiled, who gets the 'feel' of an episode from the boards, since I have to wait for a tape-fairy magic in order to actually watch anything. Obviously, I'm pretty alone in that, so I won't be surprised to find I'm in the minority in reading those posts, too.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I enjoy reading them after the fact as well.

What's the problem, that West Coasters don't want to be spoiled by ongoing East Coaster discussion? Could white font work?

meara - Oct 14, 2002 1:04:35 pm PDT #513 of 10001

Yeah, I sometimes watch and post, as an East Coaster, but sometimes am tape delayed, but go back and read them anyway, cause it's interesting to see how and what people reacted to...

OTOH, I can see how I would want to watch-and-post as a west coaster, so I don't see why we couldn't have an extra thread--we have a Canadian thread, why not? Though I guess it would be two or THREE extra threads (Angel and Firefly too)? That might get excessive, hmmm....

I think that'd drive you Easties crazy, wouldn't it?
