You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

If I only had a brain...

I know this has been shot down before, but I could really get behind a watch-and-post thread. That solves the "my realtime is not your realtime" problem nicely.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

One issue is there'd have to be a couple of watch-n-post threads, right? One for eastern and central, one for pacific. (Sorry, erika! I think you're all alone in mountain time, right?)

brillig

Amy and I are in Mountain Time. I don't think she does the watch and post, and I watch via tape anyway because I don't get off work till 10.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Then it's three airings, right? 9 Eastern is the same as 8 Central. Then there's 8 Mountain, and then 9 Pacific.

I'm just saying, I don't get how one watch-and-post thread would work.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

The east coasters could continue to watch and post in the regular thread. Then the west coasters could watch and post in their thread. When they were finished watching, they would have to stop posting in that thread and move over to Buffy regular, or we would risk having completely segregated boards.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Yeah, and I think that a watch-and-post thread, that is not also used for discussion, would look really silly, like so:

Guh!

BWAH!

WESLEY!!!

I cannot believe he just said that!

OMG!!

What did he say?

"Got a sweet fang, have we"? sure to be xposty.

"Got a sweet fang?"

"Got a sweet fang have we?" t edit xpost!

Cool!

...and so on. Sort of dadaist, but not altogether substantial.

Maybe we east coasters should give up watch and post for a week or two for the west coasters. Then, of course we wouldn't really be able to do any discussion without waiting until the middle of the night, so that would really suck.

Our wings are not tired.

Left coasters should either move or subscribe to EST satellite feed. OK, so not the best idea. Or we could tape and not watch until 11 - sure, I'll promise to do that sometime. Hee.

In other words, I got nothin' in the way of good suggestions for this.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

As a west coast gal, I like the idea of watch & post in theory, but it seems too unweildy.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Could the West Coasters set up a regular IRC chat that would allow them to watch & post, and then archive that into a web page?
