I don't know about you guys, but I've had it with super-strong little women who aren't me.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

If I get in at Dickinson, I will definitely spend at least a semester abroad. And most likely in England.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

t reminds self to bump up "getting stoned in an Amsterdam hash shop" on the list of life goals

[edit: Apology for nattering here -- I actually thought I was in the UnAmericans topic, where it would have been a bit more appropriate]

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Were I to get Nattery here, which obviously I'm not going to, I'd be tempted to sing the praises of Dutch Chocolate. Which is not only defuckinglicious in and of its own right, but has also rendered someone (who obviously isn't me no siree bob) absolutely totally and utterly stoneder than a stoned thing covered in stones. In Estonia. Why yes, that stoned. Infinitely more stoned than smoking the occasional spliff had ever rendered her. Er. Or him. 'Cause this hypothetical chocolate-eating person could have been a him. What with the whole not-being-me.

Ahem.

Up with the sun

Proposal from discussion at WX: I wonder if we might want to institute formal moderators or ombudsman. From comments the stompies have made, it sounds like they percieve themselves largely as techies who do the will of the people. Which is awesome, but it seems to me that as a growing community we may want/need some people whose job it is to welcome newbies, spell out the spoiler policy, warn people in heated discussions to Doblerize, etc. I was thinking a three-month volunteer commitment with everyone who's posted here for at least a month eligible.

I may be doing that "solving problems we don't have" thing again, tho.

(And I am So!Happy! To!Be!Back! Massive thanks to ita et al.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm so completely against that it make me mad just thinking about it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

At any rate, we had talked about holding off on these discussions til tomorrow.

Also, at that time, I'd propose the first topic is: How do we make decisions?

And then we can move on to specific thoughts and proposals

Sorry, Plei. Consider it withdrawn.

Personally, I would love to keep discussing this stuff -- waiting until Monday feels artificial to me. But I understand why people feel the need to let things sit for a while.

'scool.

I just tend to hold TWoP up as my Warning Policy about such things. They be dangerous.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I really feel very strongly that the first topic should be how we're going to make group decisions.

THEN, what problems are there that people feel the need to address.

THEN, start addressing them.
