Lyra Jane and others: should I shut down the poll or wait for somebody to open the movie thread first? And is a movie thread still going to happen? Where did all the red tape come from?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Noo! It was supposed to be "Bite you in a heartbeat."!

I didn't think we had a strong consensus either way. If we did, I'm sorry.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Let me say upfront that I'm about 300 posts behind in this thread, and having read back through the last few hundred Natter 8 posts and the continuing discussion in Natter 9 I'm not feeling up to reading through the War Thread discussion here just yet. But, assuming the subject is still under discussion, I'd like to throw my .02 in. The idea of the thread, which appealed to me at first, is starting to give me a serious wiggins, and I'd much rather see the topic remain in Natter. There may be times when it seems to take over, but those will be the times that those in need need it most, IMO. But if we decide on that route, I wouldn't object to ruling that the topic belongs only in Natter, so that the show threads, Bitches, and the other discussion threads remain a safe place for those who want to avoid talking about the war. Assuming there is one and this whole discussion isn't moot. t fingers crossed

Not javachik

There's a conversation that started with post #9893 in Natter 8. I gather it is kind of going on in Bitches, also? About content, and such. Just a pointer in case someone's looking for it.

Up with the sun

Wolfram, I'm wondering the same thing. I can only assume the Stompies have higher priorities and/or are all waiting for someone else to do it. Or else there's a secret cabal conspiring against the movies thread, but I'm not *that* paranoid. Feel free to close the poll, anyhow.

Here are the title, slug, and description that seem to have broad support:

Title: Buffista Movies 1: Who doesn't love Denzel?

Slug: Did you know that the Chinese characters for "movie" translate literally into "electric shadow"? Isn't that pretty? Um. Yeah, so, this is the Buffistas movie talk thread. Drop on by.

Header: A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I think there was some feeling that the whitefonting/spoiler policy wasn't yet decided.

t sigh I'm pretty sure it had. Two weeks after wide US release for minor plot points, two weeks after US video release for major HSQ.

t edit ...which is already there in the header.

Okay. In that case, I don't know why.

Just to clarify, that sigh wasn't directed at you Am-Chau; it's just that if I have to read the words "spoiler policy" one more time...
