Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think anyone's saying "spoilers flying everywhere" -- the two-week rule seems to have pretty wide acceptance.

Sorry -- Jen didn't mention a two week rule. I didn't know it was implied. If it is implied, then we might as well write it, mightn't we?

Our wings are not tired.

I think the 2 week whitefonting of general plot points with whitefont on the HSQ points until 2 weeks after video release proposed above by Jess Pmoon would work as a starting point.

You mean this, ita?

I agree on jumping in with the proposed white font for plot points for 2 weeks after general release and 2 weeks after video release on the huge plot points.

Does anyone disagree?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I feel a march for a cure coming on, to benefit all the hobbit-averse Buffistas. Who do we have so far? Angus, Allyson, and Kat too, right? Anyone else?

(Me too. But I don't mind if other people like them.)

Does anyone disagree?

Are you kidding? This is bureaucracy after all. FTR, if any HSQ spoilers are sanctioned, even weeks after video release, I won't be popping in too much. I saw some infamous "twist" movies months and sometimes years after they came out on video, and I still got pissy if someone started to spoil it. But you can't please all the buffistas all the time, so whatever the community thinks is fair, go with it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Chiming in late on the cross-NAFDA thread discussion - I didn't realize that we were whitefonting anything prior to the last aired episode. I may have unintentionally violated that WRT Buffyinfo in the Angel thread, though I don't recall any specific instances where someone raised an objection.

In any event, I'd prefer courtesy whitefonting to last until broadcast day the following week rather than ending on the weekend if possible, but if majority opinion goes the other way it wouldn't be that much of a hardship to skip the show threads for a couple of days.

Our wings are not tired.

I understand what you are saying Wolfram and I really agree on the huge plot twist stuff, but chances are the overwhelming majority of discussion is going to be on current movies. There are movies that have long been out on video with huge plot twists that I have not seen, but I won't ask to be protected from them in this thread. Now if everyone just does it anyway on the Sixth Sense level plot spoiler points then that would be really polite, but I wouldn't expect that.

Am I making any sense at all?

Nobody

I hardly ever go to the cinema - because dammit, we're too tired. If we get out some night here or there, it's usually for dinner. As someone who loves movies but hardly ever goes to see them, I think if a movie has gone to video and I haven't seen it, it's my tough luck if I go to a movie forum and get spoiled.

In other words, I like the two weeks in the theater/two weeks on video rule.

eta...

Let me be more specific. As someone who loves movies, but doesn't go to see them - I don't think the world owes me white font because I don't get to the movies. I'll be happy with anything and have learned from years at Buffy boards to avert mine eyes quite quickly.

There should be someone (or ones) responsible for announcing what movies come out in a given week, or which ones have been out two weeks (same with video). I suspect that there will be confusion otherwise.
