Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ah ha. Reason #4 why I didn't want a movie thread in the first place. The spoiler policy. Inevitably going to be a source of continuing frustration.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Spoiler fonting definitely can work, but one would need something like there was on WX: a posting of which movies came out each week, and then which ones are currently free to be posted in non-white.

Up with the sun

Are we talking about whitefonting all discussion on new films, or just major plot details/endings? I think whitefonting everything would be incredibly cumbersome -- but OTOH I don't want to open the thread and find out how the film I was going to see this weekend ends, assuming the ending is more twisty than "the cop gets his man" or "they make up and kiss."

Another social casualty...

I know that here in Baltimore The WB has been pre-empting Angel for college basketball. They have been showing those episodes on Saturdays or Sundays depending on their schedule.

I just discovered that The WB (WNUV-54) will begin broadcasting some Orioles games, but I don't know yet how that will affect scheduling.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I like the rules in Ovies, I think they work. I can't remember them, as I only read the 'Hollywood Gossip" thread, as I see about 2 movies per year, except in the summer, when I have time.

justkim, could you make that an HTML link? It makes the screen long. Thanks.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Speaking as a tape-delayed Buffista, I've given up on the show threads altogether. So do as you please.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Making the Movies thread non-NAFDA is a headache I don't want to get into. Non-US release dates are too random and difficult to track.

Any longer than a month after wide release, and most of the people who want to discuss the film won't be able to remember it well enough to do so, is my feeling.

Visilurking

Some of us parental units, for practical reasons, aren’t able to see most movies until they hit video. If spoilers are going to abound in the thread, I doubt you’ll ever see me poking my head in. Which is a shame, because I love talking about movies.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm rather like Wolfram in the pratical problems of seeing movies in a timely fashion. I don't mind reading all kinds of general spoilers about movies except the real HSQ points. Whatever policies are agreed to will determine if I dare peak inside the new thread.
