Although I'm wondering why someone would search for buffistas.org, and not just go there.
Seems to be a pretty common behavior among less net-edumacated folks -- they have the search or portal page set as their home page, and they type in the URL in the search box. Google will now automatically redirect you to any URL entered in its search box precisely because of this behavior, to save people a click.
I noticed that a lot of the quotes in the upper right-hand corner have the episode number -- (Episode 5.11), for example -- attached. But could we have the episode
title
instead? Cause, for me, I don't know which ep. was 5.11 right off the bat. In fact, I'd probably have to look it up.
Someone would have to go through the currently-existing file and enter the episode names, Steph.
Steph -- we already had the episode and season numbers stored for most of the quotes, so displaying them was a 10 minute change. Storing and displaying titles is a larger project.
It's just that I didn't notice the (Episode 5.11) until yesterday, so I thought that was new. Guess not.
Yes, it is new, as of yesterday. That was when I did the 10 minute change to put it up there.
Heh. For me, Steph, the number means little, but looking it up is easy. If you put the title? It STILL wouldn't mean much to me for many eps ("wait, is that the one where they have sex, or is that the other one, where there's the monster with the claws..."), and I'd have to look up the title anyway. :)
Mister Point will find a quote in three seconds: [link]
In other news, I want to ask whether it would be possible to change the font-page description of what the Spike's Bitches are. As was pointed out this morning, we still love Spike and hold him near and dear to our hearts and other places, but he's not really the center of the talk at all any more. It's more like a mini-Natter with heavy concentrations of clothing, oost, writing, and love talk. The current thread description makes it sound as though Spike is all we talk about, and I'd hate to lose any potential future members if they don't specifically and absolutely love Spike. 'Cause I almost didn't join, way back on WX, for that exact reason.
Well, if we make it sound like mini-Natter, there's really no reason for it to exist, and the sub-culture (if you will) of Bitches is different from that of Natter proper.
Which is to say, yeah, maybe the description should be changed, but I wouldn't call it mini-Natter.
