Spike: Heard what happened up top, offing your dad and all. Don't know if you know this, but, uh…I killed my mum. Actually, I'd already killed her, and then she tried to shag me, so I had to-- Wesley: Thank you. I'm…very comforted.

Bureaucracy 1: Like Kafka, Only Funnier

A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

And just to make RL crazy, I'm going to suggest adding another thread.

I like to talk politics, as do some other Buffistas. However, when any type of political conversation goes on for any length of time sooner later you get a post along the lines "ignoring disturbing political conversation". Which generally I take as indication that they want to ignore the political discussion but are having to make an effort to do so - cause otherwise why mention that it is being ignored. And that particular conversation dies.

So my thought is: why not have a Buffista Politics thread? A nice, flame free place for poltical discussion that will not distract from discussion of corsets and gay vampire snuff porn. Not that politics would be completely excluded from natter and other places, but that if the discussion got extended it could move to politics.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

A nice, flame free place for poltical discussion

Is this even possible? ;-)

(edited to say that I have no objection. Nor do I have any interest, but that's just me.)

Coding and Sleeping

I think a new thread is a good idea. A political thread is bound to be a lot more heated than the natter thread usually is. Having it's own environment is probably a good idea.

The having no interest is one good reason to support the new thread. Less politics in natter.

I'm totally for having a separate political thread. Because then I can avoid it.

Yup that's the point. Those who hate poltics can avoid it. Those who find politics of interest can hang out there. And if I end up there all by myself, we can always delete the thread. *g*

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We need to be sure that threads are created because of sufficient interest of people who are going to participate, not because of people who don't read that content in another thread, since that way lies madness. We'd have a gazillion (cat, LotR, Hugh Dillon) threads in a heartbeat.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I've been meaning to ask -- where's the cat/LotR/Hugh Dillon-lovers thread? Huh?

Hmm point. So who would be interested in a positive way in a politics thread?
