I know I'm going to need help compiling and fact-checking answers.
You got it for the second part. Just let me know what you need to be checked.
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Thanks Nilly!
Okay, here are some ideas for questions. Any additions or subtractions? This is just brainstorming right now, but I'm trying to stick to mythology and avoid things like the Ripper series and the status of S8.
1. How do you get to be a slayer?
2. Why are there two slayers right now?
3. Where do slayers in training come from?
4. Why wasn't another slayer called after Buffy died in The Gift?
5. Whatever happened to Faith? Oz? Drusilla? Harmony? Joyce? Riley? Hank Summers?
6. How old is Dawn? How come she's just starting high school in S7 when she was 14 in S5?
7. Is Spike's sire Drusilla, or Angel?
8. How old is Spike?
9. How old is Angel?
10. Didn't the same actress play Halfrek and Cecily? What's the connection between them?
12. Why did Spike get his soul at the end of S6? Didn't he want his chip out?
13. How come Buffy could close the portal at the end of S5?
14. When is Buffy's birthday? Wasn't it different in Season 1?
Do we actually want to be doing this in Bureacracy? Or is it a matter for, say, Previously?
I was thinking crafting a new FAQ was a bureaucratic matter, ergo bureaucracy. I definitely wouldn't put the discussion in Previously (tho we probably should do a call for Qs there). Should we do it by email, maybe?
I'm not sure. Just raising the question. And the list seems to cover most important points.
I think the crafting is a useful project to discuss in Bureaucracy. I'm just not convinced the actual writing should take place in Bureaucracy, since it's likely to be a thread-intensive one. The writing could take place elsewhere with suggestions & corrections posted to Bureaucracy, perhaps?

This was my plan. What I would like to do is leave the floor open for suggested questions for a day or two, then post a draft Mythology FAQ on my web site for critique, comments, etc. I agree we don't want to spend 500 posts quibbling over the math on how old Angel is, or whatever.
(Edit: I'd love writing help, if anyone feels up to it.)
I think it's appropriate for this thread. Note that the existing FAQ has Q&A for some things that could fit into this new FAQ. Perhaps we should move those bits from the old FAQ once this new one is done. We'd then have two FAQ's - one for Buffista stuff and the other for show stuff.
Brilliant!!
Jon, that sounds perfect. I was planning on copying over the question about the origins of Dawn, at least.
