So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

A specific example: I just sent Jim & Fiona tapes with the last of the aired Firefly's and Buffy through episode 7.10. I haven't sent them the last Angel yet ("Apocolypse Nowish" or whatever it's called). They probably won't get that episode until some time in February.

They are, however, not viewers in NAFDA space, and this wasn't something that was done at WX, it's something that just started happening here, and only after it became an issue in Firefly. It wasn't really discussed, it just sort of occurred, and if you weren't in the Firefly thread, you weren't in the loop on it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It wasn't really discussed, it just sort of occurred, and if you weren't in the Firefly thread, you weren't in the loop on it.

That's not my impression. I feel like it's something we've been asking people to do in the Buffy and Angel threads for a while.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I remember that back on TT we usually asked people to whitefont until the end of the week on the Buffy and Angel threads, so that people who got WB shows on other stations on Saturdays could catch up. I can't remember when we started asking to whitefont for the whole current season.

Sometime this season. The Canadians being a day behind us, there was some taunting in whitefont when they were doing the standard Monday Buffy taunting. Anyhow, like Victor and I said, if it becomes an issue, we can revisit it then. If it doesn't, well, it's just a little whitefont.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

No, I'm with Plei. It just kind of... happened. I'm pretty sure it was never covered in Bureaucracy (before now).

For what it's worth, I'm happy to whitefont for some sort of span of time, given that there are enough NAFDA folks who are on delay that it's worth it (which it seems that there are). Sounds like the consensus is to revisit the issue of a set time limit if there turns out to be some sort of need to discuss one show in the other topic, and otherwise we treat NAFDA Buffy as an Unamerican zone for Angel purposes? Is that a fair summary?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Sounds good to me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And Angel is UnAmerican for Buffy, right?

Right. Etc., etc. I assume we apply this to all shows, so we don't talk about S4 Farscape in Angel without whitefont, for instance.

Dudes, I am so proud to have made it into the FAQ with my own entry, but I feel we probably need an explanation of exactly how to read the last fifty posts of Natter (or indeed any other thread). I remember someone wondering how it was done.

  • Look at any post. It'll be marked #1234 of 4567 or whatever.
  • The 4567 part is the total number in the thread
  • Now look up at the browser's URL bar. You'll see that your current URL ends in something like showthread.php?thread_id=25&post_id=1219 -- to leap directly to the point fifty from the end of the thread, you replace the number after post_id= with the number you want (in this example, 4517, because that's 4567 minus 50), and hit Enter.
