The full quote from which the new music thread gets its name is:

They are moving closer as they sing, interrupting whatever thoughts they were going to finish with a sudden, passionate, kiss. The music (and who can blame it) swells, and we hear a final:

(html - mine)

Can we please correct the thread title to: The music (and who can blame it) swells -

a) because I'm a pain in the arse

b) because I think the positioning of the parenthetical remark adds to the humor

c) because I'm a pain in the arse

d) See old natter discussion on fan-fucking-tastic vs. fantas-fucking-ic

e) because I'm still a pain in the arse

Please?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Did we actually reach a consensus on that name as opposed to "Give Me Something To Sing About"?

billytea, yes I think there was more interest in the name as it got used.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The music board is up (with parentheses).

We can use "Give Me Something To Sing About" for the second edition.

But the parentheses are in the wrong place, Hec.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I think newbies may genuinely be confused when we talk about Buffista courtesy and then snark on Julia Roberts. We do have different rules about courtesy to people on the board and people off. I think Allyson's quote of the old chesnut "Don't shit where you eat" summarizes it nicely.

And the thing is, I don't think we are going to stop snarking at Julia Roberts or George Bush or Carrot Top; and it will include things we would never say about someone registered on the board.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Okay, fixed the quote in the title, because if we're going to quote, we might as well be accurate.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

But the parentheses are in the wrong place, Hec.

DXM or Jon can fix it when they see your request.

edit: See?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So, no interest in a 2003 Foamy Awards, then?
