"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

the only thing I miss are the wonderful Emmett stories. Hope the little guy's doing well.

Yup. His front two teeth are coming in. He wants to see TTT again. He's bummed that Christmas break is over (he spent most of it bouncing balls, building castles with his blocks or swordfighting me with his plastic LoTR Sting sword and whacking my knuckles).

FWIW, I enjoy your posts (so smart and lively) but wasn't comfortable with that particular exchange in Natter. But I didn't think you needed to absent yourself. Sometimes folks get testy and snappish even in bucolic Buffistaland. Fortunately, people tend to voluntarily back away rather than escalate such frictions. That's our culture. But I'm always glad to see your posts.

Our wings are not tired.

I think this poster didn't mean to post this in Natter, the post is duplicated in the show thread. Maybe someone can delete it...

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Caroma, watch & post wouldn't be the same without you.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'd leave it Laura... to my read there's nothing spoilery for anyone who's seen the latter half of Angel season 3 (most UnAmericans are past that point now, right?), and ZoieFinch has been pointed to the NAFDA thread for further discussion of the topic.

Laura, was it spoilery, or just misplaced. If it's spoilery, I can white-font, but I'd rather not delete. You could just ask Zoie to do it.

Mostly lurking...

I wanted to weigh in on the differing opinion discussion. I have a hard time believing that the Buffistas would ever ban someone for a differing opinion. If so, I would have been banned a couple of times. I've learned some of my hot buttons and do avoid certain topics because of it, but that's what I need to do. For goodness sakes, we have more than 600 registered users on this board. If we all agreed, this would be an extremely boring place. So, anyway, I've read both hashes of this discussion...both here and at WX. I think the Buffistas are one of, if not the, most conscientious and fair communities on-line. I think that the events of this week have proven that we'll stay that way for a very long time.

I wasn't sure where unAmericans were with Angel. Just being cautious.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We've just had an exhausting and draining fight. I don't want to try to change anything else right now. I just want to rest for awhile.

I'm with Betsy.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Caroma, FWIW, you're certainly more than welcome to come back to Natter. I remember the discussion in question, and threw my 2 cents in here and there. I think you're right that you are in a minority here politically, and I can grasp how that's a tough spot to be in sometimes. That discussion did get out of hand, and I'm glad that all parties involved recognized this and backed away when they did. I hppe you didn't feel that you had to back out of that thread for other people's comfort, and that if you're feeling more comfortable now, you'll reconsider.

But, unlike the current situation, it was a mature, reasoned response to a situation that had gone off the rails. And really, that's all we ask, isn't it?

I think it's more like:

And the music (and who can blame it) swells...
