We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

The new header in Buffy Lite Spoilage is a clarification of thread policy, not a change, so I suppose the Angel Lite Spoilage header should be changed the same way.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

There wasn't consensus, it can be changed back. It was in the original WX mission statement, and should have been there. Same for the Angel Thread, actually.

And it was added in response to a discussion in there. Mea culpa.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. Well, we have to be both clear and consistent -- there's a lot of new faces here, both to the Buffistas in general, and to each thread in specific.

So we have to carefully but thoroughly move from hivemind to documentation -- and with Angel thread too.

Knowledge is rarely common enough.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

So we have to carefully but thoroughly move from hivemind to documentation --

So, you're saying that our next step towards world domination is ISO 9001?

And as the board grows I think a certain amount of thread proliferation is both inevitable and desirable - especially natter spinoffs. Natter is already busy enough skimming and skipping is the only way most can keep up. Double or triple it, and that applies to everybody - which means lots of frustrated people with unanswered posts. The solution, start spinning off areas of interest; politics/social issues, makeup/haircare/skin care, clothing (including underwear and shoes)+accesories, movies, a single theread for other TV (Television shows that don't already have their own threads), etc (with there still being a "core" natter thread of course).

The point being to divide up Natter into enough threads that a person could choose a couple to keep up with, and skim or skip the rest. And yes of course this can wait until the rate of Natter doubles - say in a wekk and a half.

DX, I thought you'd never volunteer!

Great -- tell me when you have a task force and a statement of direction. I'll help you with the project plan, if you'd like.

Gar, I don't know if you're referring to the Help! thread, but my leaning there is that it isn't natter, it isn't discussion, and as such is very ill served and often overwhelmed.

Original Thread On Semi-Spoilers and What They Are.

Anyone have a good summary?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You know who would really benefit from the Help, I Need A Tape thread? Lurkers. And new people. And everyone.

I'm fer it.

Umm not not referring to the help thread - referring to your comment of being "anti-thread proliferation". I was making an argument for leaning towards a pro-thread proliferation policity , especially if we can spin off parts of Natter. Basically Natter has grown too big to keep up with and iwll get bigger. If we want it to be useful, we may need to split into general Natter and some topic oriented Natter threads - such as makeup/body care/hair care, clothing+costumes+accessories, politics/social issues, film, general TV (any TV not covered by specific threads). We can probably come up with others. Maybe a job-talk thread. The point is to split Natter into enough threads so that a person with a life could keep up with one or two and skip or skim the rest.
