I know I said I'd step away.
But I do not think that there are two random people out there who just happen to want to use mieskie and think it's taken.
I think we should go with the "this name is too close to a user name that has been suspended/banned, please chose another" route.
Of course that may mean he will get creative and try something entirely different. And we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.
Nicole -- don't take it personally. Sometimes a thread moves very fast, and I've found that if I only post once in a while nobody will respond to me either. Sometimes it takes a while; it also helps if post in response to someone and participate for a series of posts in an ongoing discussion. Or so I find.

Change your mind as much as you need to. I just have a weird affection for the phrase "innocent till proven guilty." Granted, I don't have to do the work and you're free to listen to me and say "Overruled." I will still vote to wait for him to damn himself before acting.

Consuela - If I still felt odd earlier today, I would not after reading some of the discussion that has gone on in this thread.
The mere fact that so many posts have gone into a decision on whether to suspend a poster or not endears me to you all. It is rare and refreshing to see a community with such a conscience! I applaud you all for being so human!!
ETA - I'm post #2002 - does that mean I'm over?
