Zoe: Nobody's saying that, sir. Wash: Yeah, we're pretty much just giving each other significant glances and laughing incessantly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sorry, Connie.

Done.

We'll just have to play it by ear from here on in.

And no, I didn't send any e-mails. We cannot invite the poster to reregister, precisely, since an attempt with a duplicate e-mail address will fail. It needs different wording, and I don't have them at my fingertips right now.

Change your mind as much as you need to. I just have a weird affection for the phrase "innocent till proven guilty." Granted, I don't have to do the work and you're free to listen to me and say "Overruled." I will still vote to wait for him to damn himself before acting.

xpost. That's what I get for playing in the LotR thread.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Christ, it's like Buffy vs Dracula.

I'm an -ista in only the loosest sense... that is, I post sometimes.

Feh, and were that true, I wouldn't have been wondering as I napped how you were doing, as I hadn't seen you around for a couple of days.

For the record, I'm for watching out for, and deactivating, any mieskie_, _mieskie, Mie Skie, or mie_skie names

Just trying to follow the technical details:

  • he's now listed as a user, but not active, under all those names?
  • if he tries to get in, the password won't work, because ita changed it on him?
  • if he tries to register with yet another email address, he'll be rejected because it's not unique?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

We cannot invite the poster to reregister, precisely, since an attempt with a duplicate e-mail address will fail.

Good point. But isn't that what we did with "Tim Minaer"?

How about,

If you are not the same person, please email us and we will work something out. This account will not be activated.

No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

mieskie/

I think he's saying, "I'm lonely! Just slash me with somebody and I'll go away."

I'm getting the pig!

Consuela - If I still felt odd earlier today, I would not after reading some of the discussion that has gone on in this thread.
The mere fact that so many posts have gone into a decision on whether to suspend a poster or not endears me to you all. It is rare and refreshing to see a community with such a conscience! I applaud you all for being so human!!

ETA - I'm post #2002 - does that mean I'm over?

"I'm lonely! Just slash me with somebody and I'll go away."

I think there was a phrase some time back, which said "Do not annoy the Buffistas, for you are an easy target for being slashed." Or more poetic words to that effect. mieskie/Dark!Willow? Short but amusing.

Okay. E-mail sent to both addresses.

Nothing was done with Tim Minaer -- it was a bogus e-mail address to start off with, so it was never validated.

Right now mieskie and mmmieskie were validated, have been deactivated. mieskie/ and /mieskie were never validated, and the password reset so the validation e-mail will no longer work. And e-mail sent.
