I am the anti-new-thread girl, but what do people think about a "Help! Need a tape of!" thread? I hate to see these things risk getting lost in Natter.

Bureaucracy 1: Like Kafka, Only Funnier
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

I think a help I need a tape thread would be brilliant.
And oft used.
Are there consistent tape fairies, or do people just volunteer on a contingency basis? I mean-- who's gonna subscribe to the thread?
I think that three tape requests have been answered in the past 5 hours. Those people.
I mean, I would, since I'd want someone to help me if I were in need.
Hec volunteered to be in charge of marshalling quotes. That way he can be sure of avoiding dupes, et al. Send them to him, why don't you?
Send away, Misha.
Insent to the profile address. Got lots of micheletepper.com - specific CSS in them, but nothing a good search and replace can't cure.

Awww, man. What do you think I do all day? Just sit around and...Oh yeah.
Meta-bureaucracy question -- why did we move the discussion of banning from Building A Better Board to here?
I thought Plasmo should post it there, because
- I see that thread as the continuation of Roll Your Own, and
- I'm convinced we had the "what to do about bad posters" discussion in RYO
Am I confused about either of those things? I'm happy to admit I'm easily confused.

I don't think getting overlooked is a threadworthy problem. It's not like only two or three Buffistas are kind enough to send a tape. It's like getting help crossing the street during a crossing guard convention. UnAmericans have fewer options, but they already have a thread. I say, if at first your tape request gets missed, cry, cry again.
