Bitchy Fic has a warning about explicitness, but I must admit I'm a trifle nervous about under-18 eyes in there. Having Liz read (some of) my stuff would be considered a felony if she did it here in Utah. And I know she has read the NC-17 stuff. That said, I keep the more--interesting items in the threads with warnings on them.
Bureaucracy 1: Like Kafka, Only Funnier
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Weren't both Holli and RL in about that (sub-14) age range when they first came on board?
You are correct in that (Holli was 12), and both seemed remarkably mature for their ages, but we also didn't own the board then.
we also didn't own the board then.
No, we didn't -- and owning the board means legal implications that we didn't have then. I was just thinking along the lines of "don't be afraid to natter now that the chibi-lizard is around, just be aware that some threads are pornier than others."
If chibi-lizard wanders in the labelled threads, more power to her and may she have one-tenth the cool as her older sister, and all will be well.

Plus, the only name on the paperwork is Jesse's, so the rest of us should be in the clear. ;)
t note to self, change profile name
Worth noting that chibi-lizard is only going on with her big sister guiding her through the threads. So she's not unchaperoned. Though Natter itself gets pretty randy from time to time.

Eek!! but jengod still owns the domain name, I think....
billytea, my ill-worded point was that of course "offensive" means "offensive to us", since unfortunately etiquette lacks ISO standardisation.
No, it's not something we can quantify. And no, it's not something we can even explain.
Sure Rio and MM and folks got down and downright scurrilous with their language. Most important thing there, I think is that a) givers and receivers were both consenting and b) we didn't have to give the benefit of the doubt -- there was no doubt. While this might be confusing for an onlooker I think there is one very important thing -- when a Buffista expressed discomfort, it was stopped with no rankling. It was born, it lived, it died, on to the next fun thing.
As for censoring for kids -- I'd rather not. Because there could be dozens of ten year olds reading right now. How much censorship would we impose? How much warning do we have to give? There's porn here, plain and simple. And no method of keeping anyone out.
