with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I think we should encourage mass registration and posting to Kiba's board, if only so she can say "X number of people registered blah blah blah" in any press release!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hee.

Poster #400?

Jayembee.¹

Which is funny for the old folks here.

I cross my fingers that the infrastructure will support an influx, and trust that the community will too.

¹ Note, his ID is 401, but user #1 is admin.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good call, Michele.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Buffistas, you must chill!

I think we're ok, we're going to be ok.

I don't like the idea of a VIP archive, for the reasons stated above, but also because I think folks who come here looking for Joss and Tim will get a better intro to this group by wading through with the rest of us. We want new people to know who we are; those who are kindred spirits will stay, those who are not will be less likely to hang around. If we start to get a bunch of trolly posts I have faith in our stompy feet. Sufficient unto the day, etc.

Yes to no VIP archive. I don't like them, really.

Elitism makes me cranky. No VIP page.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I'm with the no-VIP page too. Nillying works fine.

And I love it that Jayembee came back to us. He's an old-timer. Now, where's Phill?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Agree with Michele. If we had wanted a super-secret board, we didn't have to make this one public. But any community can benefit from exposure, and I have faith in the Buffistas' ability to weather it.

I figure if we just keep talking about Sondheim and Nietzsche and the projectile trajectories of Salad Shooters (as applied to the shows, of course) -- that is to say, keep being Buffistas -- we'll be fine. Those who find such dissertation intriguing will stay, others will flee.

Thrive to spite them

I think we'll be okay, this was the sort of thing we were talking about over in WX before we moved here. So far no one has acted like trolls and everyone has been supportive. Kiba has set up a board so maybe people who just want to talk about Firefly will migrate over there. And we may get some really neat new people from this.
