Because not everyone reads the technology thread, but a lot of the Buffistas travel for the holidays:
From Slashdot: [link]
itwbennett writes "Google is giving you something to be thankful for as you travel this holiday season. The company announced today that it is offering free Wi-Fi at 47 airports across the US between now and January 15. If you haven't booked your flights yet, you want to factor this into your plans. Here's a list of the 47 airports, which cover about 35% of all US passengers, according to Google. The Burbank and Seattle airports will continue to offer the free Google Wi-Fi indefinitely."
debg doesn't post here much anymore, but here is a blog entry by Belle Yang asking for people to think of ways to make things better for her: [link]
Hey Buffistas! It's been a while, but it's about that time again -- time to contribute to the board's upkeep. Whether you post all the time, recently delurked, or haven't posted yet, you can make a small donation to keep us up and running. We have an incredible thing here, but can only keep it going with everyone's help.
No amount too small! (No amount too large...) Paypal to donations at buffistas dot org, or email me for my new address, if you want to send a check.
Thanks!

Voting is now open for the following proposal:
To set an opening date of December 1st and a closing deadline of March 31st for the Goodbye and Good Riddance Thread. As of the last day of February, any ungifted Santa or Slacker Santa giftees will have the option to throw their names back into the pool to be gifted by other volunteers, which will be a way for people who found themselves unable to gift for one reason or another to bow out gracefully and for everyone to get closure on the year without the thread going on for months.
The discussion for this proposal starts here.
Voting closes Saturday (November 14, 2009) at 7PM (PST).
(questions should be posted in Bureaucracy)
Hi!! I'm really quite proud of the agency that I work for (non-profit that houses the homeless and provides support systems to let them keep their housing) and we now have a video on You Tube!! It's a total promo video, but I'm really proud and want to get the hits up on it, so if you have a spare 8 minutes, take a look see!! [link]
Because I know there are lots of Buffista scribes:
