Swouncing

It's the time of year again for the Secret Santa Exchange!

Anyone interested in exchanging small presents with other Buffistas during the holiday season, email me at my profile address with your Buffista name, full name and a snail-mail location to which people can send your loot. I will match up givers & giftees, and let you know who is whose.

Please try to email me by November 20. I'll match names and send out notices by November 22, to allow for lots of present buying/making and mailing time.

By the way, so that no giftee stay hanging giftless, it was suggested to have a gifts deadline: the gifts should be sent by March 2010. I hope this doesn't prevent anyone from participating, but rather encourages them.

Your truly,

Tiny Jewish not-Santa

P.S. If there is anybody who is still giftless from the former exchange, could you please let me know, so that I can see what I can do about it? Thanks!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Lightbulbs is open with a proposal from PixKristin:

To set a closing deadline of March 31st for the Goodbye and Good Riddance Thread (I think the actual date is good thing to debate in Lightbulbs), with the caveat that any ungifted Santa or Slacker Santa giftees at that point will have the option to throw their names back into the pool to be gifted by other volunteers (with the wonderful, "shit happens, no hard feelings" attitude Vortex and others demonstrated in B'craxy). This would be a way for people who found themselves unable to gift for one reason or another to bow out gracefully and for everyone to get closure on the year without the thread going on for months.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My sister's one-woman show is running again in Portland, OR. Here's a review [link]

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

FYI Buffista parents - massive Maclaren recall:

All is well that ends in pizza.

Because not everyone reads the technology thread, but a lot of the Buffistas travel for the holidays:

From Slashdot: [link]

itwbennett writes "Google is giving you something to be thankful for as you travel this holiday season. The company announced today that it is offering free Wi-Fi at 47 airports across the US between now and January 15. If you haven't booked your flights yet, you want to factor this into your plans. Here's a list of the 47 airports, which cover about 35% of all US passengers, according to Google. The Burbank and Seattle airports will continue to offer the free Google Wi-Fi indefinitely."

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

debg doesn't post here much anymore, but here is a blog entry by Belle Yang asking for people to think of ways to make things better for her: [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey Buffistas! It's been a while, but it's about that time again -- time to contribute to the board's upkeep. Whether you post all the time, recently delurked, or haven't posted yet, you can make a small donation to keep us up and running. We have an incredible thing here, but can only keep it going with everyone's help.

No amount too small! (No amount too large...) Paypal to donations at buffistas dot org, or email me for my new address, if you want to send a check.

Thanks!
