Let's take it to the (renovated) church, people!
Hi, all.
Listen, I'm going to write an essay, try to get it published in either an educational journal or a magazine.
I want to write about the formative experiences that have resulted for me, personally, on the internet, especially this board, and how communities like this have far-reaching tendrils that affect a myriad of people.
To that end, I am requesting information. You all know me well enough to feel comfortable giving me some deets...what I don't already know, that is!
I would LOVE it if people would send me an email, subject line NET ESSAY to eringriggs at hotmail dot com.
I'd like some bio info -- don't need real names, but they'd be great, but I'd like age, profession, hobbies, any noteworthy accomplishments, and any statements you'd like to make about this community or on internet communities in general. How they've affected you life -- perspectives on the world, sex, politics, religion, art, music, whatever.
I may ask some follow-up questions, and I'll be posting my results and my essay in "Writing."
Like I said, I want to get it published, but even if not, it'll be at the very least, an interesting monograph.
Questions and replies welcome. Bring on the info!
And thanks.
RE: Erin's project.
I just e-mailed her all of the survey information that I've gathered over the last year for my school project. If you DO NOT want your survey information included in Erin's project, please e-mail me at my profile addy ASAP, so I can let her know.
Also, we will probably be sharing info as I continue to work on my project. If you give info to one, it will probably be passed on to the other. If that is not ok with you, please be sure to let us know.
Thanks! We both appreciate it.
Word. And FYI, any and all people who I quote or mention in my essay, I will vet and get permission before I send it out to be published.
Just came in from an estate sale up the street where I noticed a box of VHS production tapes of Felicity. Apparently, someone in the house worked on the show.
The gentleman of the estate noticed my noticing and said that if I knew anyone who was interested, I could have them.
I have niether, vcr, nor tv, nor knowledge of the show, but if anyone around here would like them, for the cost of shipping (or picking up for DCistas/Marylanders, etc.), I will gladly toddle off down the street and collect them.
Profile addy is good, and before 4 today would be best (as the sale is ending and the house is sold...I fear the bin is their next stop, otherwise.)
Oh! I regret that I did not count the tapes but I think there are around 20. One title I saw was "The Christening".
Would anyone like to housesit for us over Memorial Day? We will be away from the 25th to the 31st of May. We have a one bedroom in Beautiful Burbank, and you would have washer/dryer, Direct TV, free long distance, and we'll stock the fridge with all your favorite foods. Duties would be taking care of two friendly cats and watering our plants. Contact me at profile addy.
The
Serenity
trailer is now available online: [link]
I just want my fellow Somervillains to know that I really TRIED. As soon as my friend, who had bought me a ticket to the
Serenity
preview next week got off the phone -- she having just gotten through after many tries to Fandango for tickets -- I
immediately
tried to grab some tickets for you all. But Fandango said it was already sold out!
Just in case, I then went up to the Loews Boston Common in person, stood around until it opened up at 12:30 and waited in line to enquire about preview tickets. But they really were sold out completely.
So I tried, okay?
Anyone catch Thessaly on the Hank Stoltz show this morning? She was on talking about the changes with Where Your Mouth Is and Worcester Artist Group.
The move to The Quinsigamond Village Community Center is getting great play, but then, after the chilling effect the changes at the Harlow Street site had, I think people are relieved that there's forward momentum. And they should be.
I'm going to be frank, though. If you CAN come out tonight to QVCC, please do, because Lea, WAG and everyone involved could use a show of support. Plus, Tony Brown, Regie Gibson, Pattie Keough and tunes by D.J. Muse, all to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank? Can't go too terribly wrong there.
