Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye.

A conversation on sock puppetry spilled from Bitches to B'cacy where a proposal was put forth, and it now lives on in mutated form in Lightbulbs.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Would any of you more language-geeky Buffistas (oh, who am I kidding, the Venn diagram of sets of "the language-geeky" and "the Buffistas" -- well, let's just say one wholly contains the other, okay?) be willing to write a paragraph of support for the Historical Dictionary of American Slang? If it's a book that you have used with pleasure, or drooled over in the library or bookstore, we'd love to hear about it as we are applying for a major NEH grant and would like to show that "reg'lar people" love it too.

Profile addy is good. It doesn't have to be long (although I would prefer it be longer than "HDAS r0x0r! W00t1!!!1omgONE!"). I need your Real Name attached in order for it to appear in the grant.

If you haven't seen the Historical Dictionary of American Slang, it's worth a side trip next time you go to the library. Seriously. I'm not just saying that. I mean, check out pages 443-448 of Vol. I, just for instance.

hip deep in pie

Canucks, Vision TV are rebroadcasting Wonderfalls. They apparently started at the beginning of the month, but I just saw an ad yesterday. Tonight's ep, at 9pm EDT, is Karma Chameleon.

Who? moi??

Another Ebay spam is making the rounds. ANY mail from Ebay should be forwarded, intact, to spoof@ebay.com. They will let you know right away if it is real or not. Do not click on any of the links, or respond in any fashion.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'm having a big yard sale this coming Saturday from 8 - 1ish. I'm getting rid of some large bookcases, a small recliner, a daybed, assorted books, maybe some CDs and DVDs, plus much of the usual crap that one gets rid of when one moves.

If anyone is interested in seeing what's available, contact me at my profile addy for directions, etc.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I have an extra ticket to see Hello Again Thursday night at 7:30. (This is not the show I've been complaining about in Natter). Let me know via profile addy if you are interested.

F2F Info

If you are attending, or thinking of attending, can you please pop over to the F2F thread and check in. We're trying to get a sense of numbers and we are possibly adjusting some of our plans.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I have two free Pro Flickr accounts to give away.

Flickr is a very slick, easy to use photo sharing web site. It's much, much better than ophoto or yahoo. (It was, in fact, recently purchased by Yahoo).

A professional account would be ideal for someone who has lots of pictures to share -- for example, someone with a newborn baby.

A free account on Flickr is also quite nice. Check out the difference between a free and a pro account, and if you think you'll be able to make use of a Pro account, please let me know. You'll need to sign up for a free account before I can upgrade you to a pro.

(My photos, by the way, are here.
