I just want my fellow Somervillains to know that I really TRIED. As soon as my friend, who had bought me a ticket to the Serenity preview next week got off the phone -- she having just gotten through after many tries to Fandango for tickets -- I immediately tried to grab some tickets for you all. But Fandango said it was already sold out!

Just in case, I then went up to the Loews Boston Common in person, stood around until it opened up at 12:30 and waited in line to enquire about preview tickets. But they really were sold out completely.

So I tried, okay?

Anyone catch Thessaly on the Hank Stoltz show this morning? She was on talking about the changes with Where Your Mouth Is and Worcester Artist Group.

The move to The Quinsigamond Village Community Center is getting great play, but then, after the chilling effect the changes at the Harlow Street site had, I think people are relieved that there's forward momentum. And they should be.

I'm going to be frank, though. If you CAN come out tonight to QVCC, please do, because Lea, WAG and everyone involved could use a show of support. Plus, Tony Brown, Regie Gibson, Pattie Keough and tunes by D.J. Muse, all to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank? Can't go too terribly wrong there.

Bay Area folks, t- is in town this weekend. We're meeting at my house on Saturday 4/30 for winetasting and/or strolling around pictureque little towns and/or walking on beaches and/or a little light hiking, and/or walking through the redwood forest where the landspeeder chase in one of the Star Wars movies was filmed, and/or playing bocce ball, and concluding with dinner at my house - nothing fancy, cioppino and salad and good crusty bread and maybe some Wonderfalls DVDs. We haven't quite picked a time to meet yet, but anytime after 9 or 10AM is fine with me. They are as their name states--Ass Rocking. Plus HoT!T! and nice too.

The numbers for the F2F are growing and getting foamier! Also, looks like money may be all set...ND is working out the details, but people have been amazingly generous. Thank you, everyone, for making this happen. I can't tell you what a huge sigh of relief I'm breathing (not to mention my credit card).

I'm here, though, to kick the butt of the attendees into visiting the menu options and chiming in about which hot/cold hors d'ouevres look good and which would be a bad idea! [link]

We will have an open bar for at least 3 hours, and we'll also have a variety of appetizers, but this is your last week to chime in on exactly what I should order. Start chimin'!

I also posted in the F2F thread about some possible activities for people coming in Thursday and Friday, and I wanted to see if there's a new point person for the Commander's Palace meal since Vortex isn't coming and several others, including me, are going to have to plead poverty and find something else that evening.
