It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

SEATTLE-ISTAS!

Will go to F2F with this and email with this as well, but my signing/reading event at Barnes and Noble, University Village, is official for Halloween weekend. Laura Stretchenback is asking which night I'd prefer. I'm thinking the Saturday night (30 October). In any event, I want to schedule it so that the maximum number of people show up (obviously!) and also to maybe rock the B&N with a nice gothy little party, which Laura would probably love.

I need to confirm this with both the store and my publicist, so if people could e me with what date they'd prefer, I can get this set up ASAP.

Thanks!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

LAISTAS

As I am sure you all know by now, Miss Trudy Booth is in our fair burg this weekend. Tomorrow, being her birthday, we are celebrating with by heading out to Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks (it was TOTALLY in Valley Girls - Julie and Randy had their first date down the street at DuPar's).

Anyway...

Casa Vega 13301 Ventura Blvd x-st Fulton Blvd. 8pm

Good drinks, good eats, lots of fun!! Maybe MM can chase Emilio Estevez out of the place again.

E-mail to my profile addy so that I can call and make the reservation - it gets car-zeee in there on Saturdays if there's no reservation!!

Friendly reminder that discussion of My Name is Asher Lev, by Chaim Potok, begins in Book Club thread on Monday, September 13, 2004. It's a relatively short book so there's still plenty of time to cram it in (or for our illiteristas to find someone to read it to them.)

Our next book will be Small World, by David Lodge, with discussion to begin Monday, October 11, 2004. Reading list information and Amazon buffiliate links for all books can be found in the first post of the Book Club thread.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

This is a driveby, as I'm out the door soon, but I just wanted to announce that what was once my old column, "Writing for the Real World," has become "How to Suceed As a Failing Writer," and now lives at Gotpoetry.com.

We're kicking off with a re-run, to set the tone, but soon there will be more caustic, cyncial and hopefully entertaining and interesting musings on living a writer's life.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Well, my wedding photos are now up on collages.net.(Ok, a subset of the photos) As I'd rather not post the password info publicly, if you'd like to see them, e-mail me.(Profile e-mail is good)

For those of you lubbers who were not aware, tomorrow, September 19th, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Arr, me hearties!
