Thrive to spite them

Just a note that my darkishness (which admittedly hasn't been that dark) will continue until Aug 16th or so. I don't plan on returning to town between now and then.

Nobody

I'm off to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to my family reunion. There will be much fun and frolic, but no internet access, so I'll see you all on Monday!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Here's a plea for continued jobma. The Big Boss, aka the guy who made sure the journal I work on got funding, is stepping down. We've no idea if the person replacing him in six months or so will want to keep publishing us or not. I absolutely love my job, and I really want to keep it. So any -ma Buffistas could send my way would be deeply appreciated.

Hellbound Equal-Opportunity Nookie Hog

Anyone who can spare jobma for my DH, please send some, especially starting at 3:30 PM Pacific time today. He has a job interview at a gaming company. The overtime would reduce our facetime together, but the money would rescue us from a far worse stressor. Thanks!

move out and draw fire

I'm going #999999, if not completely #000000, for the next few days, due to general meatspace stuff. I've left a steamer trunk full of -ma here for Calli, Lysana & DH, and anyone else who may need it.

Cheers!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Huh. Final exam. Haven't had one of those since, oh, 1990. Shit.

(In other words: vibes and exam-ma graciously accepted, especially toward 7 pm EDT.)

Another social casualty...

DH's interview on Monday went really well. He's moved to the next step, and they are checking his references. His impression is that he is the front runner for the position.

I know there are a lot of people in the world worse off than we are, and I feel guilty for asking, but if anyone can spare a a litle extra life-ma, I would appreciate it. We should know by Friday.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Going grey as I'm going home and will only have consistent net access in the wee hours. Thank god I'm getting out of Berea.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I figure I'll post this now since I've been having trouble with the board.

Goind dark this afternoon until Sunday. Heading up to Maine to hang with a couple of friends I've known since elementary school and also see some family.
