Good and Bad news:
One of my best friends who has been unemployed has been offered a job (YAY!).
It's in CA, Bay area (BOO!).
So anyway, I am not thrilled about losing her to the west coast, but thought I could be a supportive friend and post here for any leads on housing. SHe has said that she will most likely be looking in the mission area near the Cal train(?). If that makes sense, feel free to e me info on good realtors or whatnot. msbelle (at) earthlink (dot) net
Just heard from my Mom, she had a cardiac catheterization today and got great news! She is healthy as a horse and the bad signs that brought her into the hospital were due to nervousness and nothing else. Yay for healthy Ma ma!
Going dark for the weekend to visit the evil twin. Wish me Pirates!
I'm going to be some shade or grey or black for the next week while I'm at a Playwrights conference in Ojai. I have web access up there, and my trusty Sidekick, but I don't know that I'll have muh spare time. I'll be getting my e-mail the whole time, and love to hear from folks, so please send me stuff at my profile addy if you feel so inclined. Hopefully I'll just be light grey, not totally dark.
Nothing major, I'm going dark at least until Friday. Maybe later. I'm going to the beach! But I've been so quiet around the boards lately y'all probably won't notice.
I'll be darkish grey starting on Thursday, as my mother and I will be bumming around Chicago. If anyone wants to meet up, drop me a line....
I'm home! I'm home!
t does a little dance around her study, startling the cats who have been 'pretending' she's not there
Our flight from Chicago to Boston had one ten minute stretch where the pilot entered some still air and got on the PA to urge the passengers to use the facilities, because they weren't going to get another chance before landing. It was bumpy enough that I had to put away my laptop to guard against it accidentally hitting me in the face on one of the more vigorous bumps.
The pilot also got on the PA to tell us, "You paid for an airplane ride, and golly, you're going to get one."
The BF got the promotion you were all kind enough to vibe for last week. Thanks for sharing the patented jobma with a not-quite-Buffista.
And WOO-HOO!!!
Greg, the dh librarian extraordinaire, is working on a database of worthy horror novels for the Cleveland Public Library system and would like to request some Buffista assistance.
1. If any of you like the Buffy and/or Angel novelizations, he cannot include all of them, but if you could provide the authors and titles of the one(s) you consider the best, he will include as many as he can.
2. He is also requesting authors and titles of any books Buffistas think of as quality horror, with a categorization (like classic, vampire; horror/humor; psychic, etc.) and a couple of sentences about why you think it's a good book.
Any assistance will be met with vibes of health, happiness and glitter (sorry, no money), and may be sent to my profile address: serasempre @ cox.net.
