And with that, I'll be entering my annual summer (unless you're antipodean, in which case, winter) state of either mildly dark (borrowed connections) or wildly active (bored stone senseless).
But I'll also be in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Kansas and Texas. So if you're there, and wanna say hi...email me. I realize some of those are large states, but still!
First, Congrats to Deb G!
Not to rain on the celebration of the board's return (I missed you all) but simply to follow-up my last post here: J's father finally died last week. (He was most certainly of the Do Not Go Gentle school, hanging on for over four months after the doctor's first gave him 24 hours.) And Life goes on (as is its habit).
Not only am I moving to a new place this weekend, I'm also in the preliminary planning stages of a trip to Chicago.
So, Chicago-istas:
It looks like I'll be in town July 24-27. I'll have my mother in tow, and we'll be staying at my godmother's in Oak (memfault), but would anyone be up for a mini-F2F? Dinner? Possibly involving Marishka's? Let me know at my profile addy....

I'm in Chicago this weekend, so I'll be offline Thursday night through Monday. If any Chicago-istas want to get together, a bunch of online friends and I are probably meeting mid-afternoon on Saturday at The Spoke. No, I don't know where that is. Email me for more detail, I guess.

However, this does mean that if you are pining for Hec and have his phone number, you can call him and there's a small but measurable chance that he will actually answer the phone. Which will be new and strange, but in a nice way.

baby boy Wolfram was born this morning. Mother and baby are doing well. I'm going grey for a little bit but I'll be in and out.
This isn't very apocalypsy, but Rio can't get in (yet) and wants me to tell you all how wistful and nose-pressed-to-the-glass she is waiting to come back here.
