Hello all, I know it has been a long time, but this is the first place I thought of. My mother passed away sometime between Saturday night when I spoke to her (more chipper than usual) and Monday morning when my uncle showed up for his weekly help her do stuff day. My poor uncle. He is very stoic, but he shared that when he called 911 he forgot his own phone number She always said that she wanted to die before she knew what was wrong with her, so it is ironic that she had a bunch of diagnostic doctor’s stuff scheduled for Wednesday. What is less great is that since she was completely secretive about everything, everything is a wild goose chase. So anyway, when I am in crisis, ai still think Buffistas, but I am not sharing widely on Facebook yet.

Mr. S is no longer living with us. I would rather not divulge the details of what led to this decision here. I don't know how long this will be, but it is supposed to be temporary.

I am safely home from the hospital. I am probably scheduled for follow-up vascular surgery to correct a carotid artery blockage the week of BayCon, my home convention; we'll see what that does to my ability to attend. Thinking of all y'all with love and solidarity in any case.
MRI showed what they called a "mini-stroke": left forearm and hand are affected but my right arm and both legs are ok.

Hello all. I have not been feeling well since my mother passed away, but they were vague symptoms I attributed to stress. Wednesday I experience severe leg swelling and went to the ED. While I was there, they discovered a gigantic (probably cancerous) mass in my lower abdomen that was causing the leg swelling and subsequent deep vein thrombosis. No biopsy yet, that will be Monday. I am on heparin to this my blood to break up the clots, but basically the blood is just stuck in my leg until they remove the thing sitting on the veins, but I still have a good pulse in my foot. This is going to be approximately ten million dollars! I will be here for at least seven days, probably more. At least I will reach my deductible. Go probable stage III ovarian cancer!
