Friends, I have a huge ask.

I'll get the bottom line out of the way first, and then explain why I need what I need.

The Ask

I need to set up a series of micro-loans to raise $2,000 quickly. One friend has already lent me $2,500 (to be paid back after a year, bless her) and now I am working to make up the difference to pay for something that is going to change my career and financial life substantially.

I commit to returning all money raised by the end of January 2018. I know that seems like a long time but the course I am taking will end in early November and it will take a couple of months to earn the investment back.

Any and all size of loan is deeply, deeply appreciated. I will send you a promissory document immediately, ensuring my commitment to repayment. I've never defaulted on anything, no matter how rough times have gotten, and I'm not about to start now.

My paypal email is bonnyATbonnyking-taylorDOTcom. If you'd prefer to send a check, email me and I will gladly supply my address.

The Point 2014 through late 2016 were really good years for me financially. I had 5 income streams, I could pay my taxes, and things were hectic but good.

By March of 2017, 3 of the five streams dried up for appropriate reasons as contracts ended, (one due to the new administration) and patients died. One ended because it was no longer right for me. That left me pitching for new contracts while trying to shore up my private practice. And then I got really sick and could not work for a month, that chewed through my savings.

The truth is, I've always been super fortunate with unexpected requests. People coming out of the woodwork, asking for odd things that I can do. At the same time, my private practice has been consistently fulfilling, but always small.

Lately, perhaps because of the post-election chaos, those side gigs are not happening.

The Solution

It is time for me to adopt a 'bread and butter' component into my practice that is more easily understood and marketable than what I have done so far.

Enter: groups and hypnotherapy.

I am currently pitching both teen and couple's groups locally and that will hopefully help pay the bills in the shorter term.

The loans I need are for an internationally respected hypnotherapy certification program (marisapeerDOTcom) that will let me help people cure functional issues in very short order. Things like smoking, procrastination, weight management, nail biting, infertility anxiety, test anxiety for kids, self-esteem issues, work-life overwhelm, over/under spending...the list is almost endless.

I have personally benefited from hypnotherapy several times and, in recently searching for a practitioner for myself, I realized that I want to be the one providing that service.

I love quick results and this program will help me to offer 90 minute, one-time cures. That really excites me.

A quick note about hypnotherapy There are a lot of misconceptions about hypnosis. Honest to god, no one can make you cluck like a chicken at a comedy show unless you are actually okay with clucking like a chicken!

Scientifically, it is a form of guided meditation that helps you step around intellectual limiters and shift your perspective/choices to what you actually want, as opposed to what your history or outside influencers tell you is available to you. Because is it not a talking cure, single session success rates are statistically very high for the motivated client.

With hypnosis I personally:

  • had three impacted wisdom teeth taken out without novocaine or fear.
  • went from a wimpy cyclist to a BEAST who rode 44 miles every day and tackled hills with ease.
  • got past a particularly heartbreaking non-marriage on my own terms.

All contributors have the option of at least one hypnosis session which, in this area, is a $300 value! The work can be done by skype or facetime if you are far from me.

In conclusion

I have not felt this sure, or confident, about any career move I have made since deciding to become a therapist in 1998.

Even more important, I am finally letting go of doing everything on my own, and will be part of a world-wide community of support and referrals as part of this program.

I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone helping me to make this possible. I will do you proud, I promise!

I am so grateful to the Buffista who asked me so simply pay his generosity forward. I swear I will, many times over.

And, you've given me a great idea.

Like Kiva, I will create a graphic of results to share. No identifiers, of course, but I love seeing the changes people make and this process is so relatable and concrete!

Thank you, thank you so much.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

asking for some housing~ma for around 1 pm Central time tomorrow. I'm looking at an apartment that will be too small, but the management company is one of the few reliable ones in this city. I'm tired of looking at subpar places. everything is either Section 8 or overpriced for the Rockwell Collins employees.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I feel bad asking when I haven't been here for so long, but we still need about 70 answers to the quiz Suzi mentioned a few days ago. If you haven't yet, would you be so kind as to answer in either Facebook [link] or Twitter [link]

(the twitter poll closes early Saturday morning)

Thanks!

Always Anti-fascist!

Could I get some -ma for my friend K. and his wife S? Also, some for us, because a handyman's bad luck kind of means we have something not fully fixed.

Our wings are not tired.

Some heart~ma for my step-dad would be appreciated. He has always been a very physically active man in the 30 years I have known him, but in the past few weeks he started getting substantial chest pain and shortness of breath with even minimal exertion. We went for an echo and stress test Friday and after about 3 seconds of the stress test they stopped it and scheduled him for a cath at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Most likely outcome will be a stent put in tomorrow, but we will know more when they get in there. I know this is very routine stuff, but his emotional state has been horrible since Mom died and he could use some ~ma in the form of strength for the next few days.

Thank you!
