S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Hi everyone! Just a notice that I've altered my board name from SA to esse. Phonetics! And Latin. It's weird to make this change after fifteen years, I gotta tell ya.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

In a one two blow - my becoming eligible for (very low) disability seems to have screwed up my health insurance. Me and my insurance company are trying to figure out whether I need to get new insurance under A) Medicare B) Another part of Medicaid than I'm currently getting C) both. The reason nothing has been done up till now is that I checked at the beginning of this month and was told that everything was copacetic. So now as of the 19th I'm trying to find out whether the hoops I've already jumped through will get me health insurance for November. Or do I need to jump through new hoops, and if so have any deadlines already passed? Oh and my "local" "community friendly" bank just informed me that my old account is being transitioned (their term) to a new better form of account. And the cost of this new account will only be $6 a month! Isn't that just super. So I now have to open a new account with a credit Union located an incovenient bus ride away. Get disability transferred to my new banks account. And close my old banks account. All by November 30. Plus take care of insurance mess. Just what I needed when my Mother still needs 24 hour care, and I can't leave the house without getting a Ruth sitter.

Quite honestly, don't know what kind ~ma to ask for.

Best of luck, TB.

I think I must have collected some wild, free range ~ma. I have four job interview lined up for this week, including two today! After being out of work for Reasons so long, it's really gratifying to get such a response.

So if you don't mond throwing whatever extra ~ma you may have lying about, I would appreciate it.

Compassionately intolerant

So. Out of the blue, I need some quick legal advice regarding an unhappy doggy lama client who has gone off the deep end. I can pay a little bit and would deeply appreciate some reassurance/advice.

My profile addy is good!

----- So, I talked with a lawyer this morning who says the client has no case, but could file a small claims suit...that would either send us to mediation, or be thrown out.

This evening, the client has called my home number 5 times in 5 minutes (at 9pm) with a voicemail threatening to call the city, the BBB and more. Thankfully, no threat of physical violence, but he sounds unhinged and everyone knows where I live.

Please. Safety ~ma and calm-the-hell-down ~ma for this guy.

Our wings are not tired.

Mom~ma requested. My sister called at 4:30 this morning. Mom's heart had stopped. They restarted it and she was on the way to the hospital. So I am out the door. It is about 3 hours with picking up my sister and getting to the hospital. She is 95, so tricky.

Our wings are not tired.

Mom passed away tonight. Seriously I know I hit the Mom jackpot, and having her into my own 60s was incredible. She was the kindest most uplifting woman. She assured us continuously that we were brilliant and beautiful and was supportive in all ways. I never heard her say a hateful thing in her life. I will miss her all the days of the rest of mine.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Okay, here we go...

Today, a year after our failed Kickstarter launch, we are pitching our project in a meeting with the CEO of Marvel and the EVP/Head of Licensing for Disney.

While my team is making the presentation in NYC I'll be sitting here biting my nails and taking care of a feverish Matilda.

This is our second meeting with Marvel, and they are the ones who brought Disney into the meeting so we think we might have better than a coin-flip's chance for a sale here.

This is our last shot. But it's also our best shot, and it would be the biggest score.

The presentation is polished and rehearsed. It's one the hardest things I've ever worked on, but very gratifying too. And this would be a life changer for my family as I have an equity stake.

So friends, Romans, Buffistae...lend me your -ma at 2pm EST/11am PST.

“Not dead yet!”

Coming out of lurkerdom for another brief moment to share some news I've been sitting on for a while (and that many of you might already have seen on FB): my novel, BETWEEN HERE AND GONE (which some of you critiqued parts of Way Back When, including Ginger ::sigh::), has been selected as one of Publisher's Weekly's Best Books of 2016. To say I'm over the moon would be putting it mildly.
