Birth, death, illness, new job, vacation...if it's happening to you and you want us to know about it, post it here. These threads are intended for announcements only. Want to offer sympathy or congratulations, or talk about anything? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
Hey, I haven't been posting too much here, but I have been lurking every day because my laptop keys are not working and typing long messages on my phone makes me feel kind of stupid and fumblefingered.
Anyway the meat of my message: I am having a casual soiree for my 43rd birthday on August 22nd, Saturday.
If any Buffistas in the area or from more far-flung climes are interested in the possibility of attending my casual soiree, please drop me a line on Facebook and I will give you the deets on the actual events page.
So! Thanks all!
I have a new piece up on Hilobrow for their "Crom Your Enthusiasm" series this summer about fantasy from the 1930s. My piece is a little love letter to Fritz Leiber's Thieves House.
Check it out: [link]
Could you lovely people do me a solid and rate and review my recipe? 5 stars is preferred and the sillier the better. [link]
Thanks, ever so much.
I posted some of my Sept/Oct travel schedule in F2F... hoping I get to visit with a lot of you soon.
Thor, the mighty pitbull has fallen.
If you remember back in 2002 when my niece Teresa and Thor were heroes:

May the valiant Thor find his berth to Valhalla a pleasant one.

Hi! I'm thinking about buying a Paperwhite, nothing fancy, and thought I'd check to see if anyone has an old one they'd like to sell me. Profile addy or FB messenger is good.
I have been hooked up. Once again Buffistas are the best.
Not putting this on Facebook, because I will not deal with the inevitable jerks that will pop out of the woodwork, but would you all please spare some ~ma for my aunt's family? Her nephew was shot and killed on Monday night. Neighbors thought it was firecrackers, and the call came in as an intoxicated person, so police/EMS were not immediately on the scene. Best as they can put together at this point, whoever did it left him in the middle of a city street to suffer for 20 minutes, and by the time help arrived, he was gone. He was no angel, and hadn't succeeded in turning his life around yet, but no one deserves this fate. Mothers shouldn't have to bury their sons.
