Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

WOOHOO!

So, the agency I regeistered with today is faxing my resume to a CPA firm this afternoon for an interview possibility, and I have an interview tomorrow at 11 am with a company I emailed yesterday!

As much jabma as available would be highly appreciated.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

I could use some jobma this way, please. Everything I'm applying for, I'm getting rejected, even things I'm eminently qualified for. I'm currently applying to work at my father's alma mater in Ohio - not where I wanted to move, but pretty enough country, I'd say.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Recent events in my life are rapidly coming to a head: some good (the rights to DH's last book have finally been straightened out and a second edition is forthcoming; I'm starting one with a friend in Sydney; Kenny will receive the internship at the Aviary in September -- he will be the youngest person ever to do so, as it is usually given to college students) and some bad (my biological family and I have reached the boiling point, and I intend to clear things up or legally cut them off by the end of this month; DH's father's Alzheimer's has made alliance by rapidly worsening health, and his death will unleash a shitstorm amongst the remaining family) . . . .

Anyway. The upshot is that even the enormously reduced time I've been spending here is too much, and I will be going dark for the foreseeable future. It's been fun.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I've agreed to take a position offered here in Pittsburgh, which means that I won't be returing to Canada anytime soon. Thanks again to all the Haligonians for their lovely hospitality during my job-hunting visit there for a few weeks ago. You guys rock. ::smooches::

This afternoon I handed over a deposit cheque to a real estate agency for AU$30,000 -- looks like we're really buying our own apartment! Wow. I really am a grown up now, huh?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I just wanted to share this with everyone who sent letters and expressed support on the board while we were losing Alex. It'll be gone soon, but I'm saving a copy. Column about Alex.

I sold my short story "The Yeti's Birthday Party" to Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, the magazine edited by Kelly Link and her husband Gavin Grant. Woo-hoo!
