Many wishes for a swift recovery, DX.
On a hopefully lighter note, I'm going to be travelling this weekend. Driving the old Beast from Nova Scotia back home to Richmond, VA. On the way I'll be passing through most of the I-95 cities between here and there, but unfortunately I probably won't be stopping (unless someone along the NY/NJ Expressway or Jersey Pike feels like offering a place to rest. Profile email is good) except to sleep along the way. However, I will be in the central/northern VA area with easy access to DC and Baltimore if any Buffistas want to get together in the next month or two. Again, profile addy is the place to send mail for that.
Here's hoping for a safe and uneventful journey.
Well, the Apocalypse has come.
I have found out through the company website that I am going to be terminated today.
Thanks for all the good vibes.
Ok. A little quick, but good with the news.
Long ago former boss and former co-worker now run an employment agency. I called them today and let them know what was going on. Turns out they have a new client who is looking for "someone just like" me. They are getting more details and calling me Monday. I am emailing resume tomorrow.
I am in Belfast!
I'll be back in Edinburgh soon but now I'm in the internet cafe by the bus/train station. Can you tell?
Edit: Belfast is nice -homey even.
Going dim as I escape the ice and snow for sunny Orlando for a week. See y'all.
Well, that was darker than I had intended to be.
Coming up for air, going back below soon.
Love to those who need or want it; I'm alive and doing OK, just utterly swamped at work.
Those of you who have my IM information, please feel free to use it. Those who don't have it but want it, please e-mail me at the profile address.
Take care of each other, lovely people. The world needs all of you.
Going to be dark for approximately the next week, as I road trip across the Midwest.
Take care.
Happy Saturday too good for regular Natter! First, did our taxes and thanks in part to some new tax credit I'd never heard of, we're getting $2100 back! Go graduate school and unemployment!
Second, we found the perfect house to rent! It's a bungalow, built 1920, 3 br, hardwoods throughout, built-in glass cabinets, working fireplace, front porch swing, for $$ which is good in local terms. And in a perfect location so I can walk to work instead of the 3 hours daily on a bus I've been doing since Sept. (For locals, it's in Trinity Park).
Hereby passing on housema to them as needs it, especially Nutty who I know needs it, and Anne who is looking to buy.
