We die horribly and painfully, you go to hell and I spend eternity in the arms of baby Jesus.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My Tom Waits bus tour from this weekend got a really nice write-up in the Guardian.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So... um... funny thing happened at lunch today. Daniel and I were going out to celebrate the 7th anniversary of our first date (and coincidentally, the 10th anniversary of meeting in the Hellmouth Cafe chatroom)... and he asked me to marry him.

I made him wait a good ten seconds before saying yes, because I'm cruel. And also was speechless there for a bit.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Rose Elizabeth Doyle was born at 7:32pm last night, 7lb 8oz and 19 3/4 inches long. She's gorgeous and has a great set of lungs!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I have to be in Louisville, KY for a conference June 25-27, 2012. If I'm not mistaken, Cincinnati is close by. Do I have any reason to come in early, on that Saturday or Sunday?

Discussion in F2F.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm planning to be in San Francisco in late May - sometime after May 19, before Memorial Day. I'm looking at Hotel Carl (which, if I remember correctly, is the Buffista go-to place to stay). Anything going on that would make rooms unavailable (festivals, etc.)? any advice, suggestions, etc.? I'll be checking the F2F thread ....

Mostly lurking...

Hey, my Buffista friends! I know I'm not around here much anymore, but I'm getting married tomorrow! I kind of can't believe it. But, it's true. Very excited. I thought you all might like to know that we're hoping to live stream the wedding. If it works, the feed will be at my Qik profile. The wedding starts at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time. It should be quite the somethin'!

Miss you all!

Now tagless for your comfort.

A bit of bout ~ma would be appreciated tonight as the Mid-State Sisters of Skate take on The Chippewa Valley Roller Girls in Eau Clair. We have yet to win a bout as a team and I think our chances are good.
