Xander: Am I right, Giles? Giles: I'm almost certain you're not. Though, to be fair, I haven't been listening.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Briefly - My health insurer (KPS) is shutting down all individual plans. To get new health insurance I have pass a standard health questionaire that screens out people with existing conditions. No way I could pass that. There are exemptions from this, but plan termination is not one. KPS has just made lot of people uninsurable To solve this, the ledge has unanimously passed a law adding termination of an insurance plan as reason to be exempt from the questionaire. Now up to our Governor.

If you are in Washington State, please Call or Fax Governor Christine Gregoire
Phone: 360-902-4111 | FAX: 360-753-4110 Ask her (very very politely) to please sign SB6412 which adds termination of an individual insurance plan to the reasons someone seeking health insurance can be exempt from the standard health insurance questionaire.

Given that it passed both houses of the legislature unanimously she will probably sign it, but you never know for sure with politicians and a wave of phone calls saying "sign. sign. sign" won't hurt, and might make sure no last minute changes of mind occur. I just learned of it when I called the State health insurance commissioner's office this morning.

And we need health care for everyone, not just those lucky enough to be able access private insurance. Single Payer now! But in the meantime, keeping a bunch of people from losing what health insurance they have is worthwhile.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

And in just-when-I-think-it-can't-get-worse-but-then-does news, may I please have some biopsy~ma? Dermatologist found an atypical mole today and performed a shave biopsy to make sure it's not cancerous. She's not overly concerned but good luck has been non-existent for me lately, so I'm worried. Results should be back in 7-10 days.

I am not telling family until I know something definitive. They can't take much more.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Today marks 10 years since my mom died. It's kind of staggering to think about - so long, and yet still so present. I don't need hugs, but warm thoughts are more than welcome.

I look back on that time and one thing stands out: I genuinely do not know how I would have made it through without this place and all of you who gave me so much support, comfort and room to feel.

Like Maria said, one of the best things I ever did was stumble upon this place. I can't express how much you all mean to me, and I'm profoundly grateful.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

After 18 months of being mostly unemployed (interrupted by 8 weeks of part-time work for some of the worst human beings I have ever known in my life), I was offered a job today with the state legislature, doing pretty much what I was doing before (for ~$20K less, though). I was hoping to come out of this long dark tea-time of the soul with some sense of growth and change, but hell, I'll take it.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

please send some smoothing of bureaucratic red tape to my friends C and D . D is a good friend of Matt's and he met C on our front porch. They got married on Feb 12th. she is expecting. The complication: She lives in england - he lives here. She has a job and an home in england and they want to live there at this point- his visa was just denied - and we don't know why yet. We'd just like to see things work so they can be together as a family.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

One of my classes this semester is a “conditions” class, where we have hour-long lectures on different medical conditions. My group is doing a presentation on Anxiety disorders (hitting specifically Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Specific phobias, PTSD, OCD, and General Anxiety Disorder). I am hoping to be able to show (30-60 second) videos of people with these conditions, talking about what they wish people knew about it and them. If you’re interested and think you might be able to help, please let me know. This will only be used in the class, and we won’t give out any personal details without your explicit permission.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.
