Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm afraid the bad news came and it came quickly.

A month ago my Aunt Barbara was at Universal Studios on rides with her grandchildren. She started feeling weak a few days later. Her doctors at Sloane said that this time there was nothing they could do. Tuesday she was moved from the hospital to a hospice near her son's house. She slipped away this afternoon.

Thank you for your kind thoughts through all of this. She and we were grateful for the extra time she had.

Thrive to spite them

I need some please get my stuff delivered~ma. There's another snag. Hopefully it can be delivered tomorrow, but possibly not. It might be Saturday or at this point and the way things are going maybe Monday.

I am not pleased with UHaual, I take back every nice thing I said about them. Do Not use them for the Ubox feature it's too much trouble.

On Monday I'm going to find a supervisor and have a Very Stern Talk with him or her.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

One of Emeline's paintings was chosen to represent her class and school at the district-wide art show that was held in our local library the past month. Some photos of herself, her fine art, and her parents can be found here: [link]

I know it's last minute, but Noah and Grace and me are doing the March for Babies. If you have a few $ and would like to support the cause (it's a good one), I'd be most appreciative. [link]

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I have finished my portfolio for my National Boards certification renewal. It must be postmarked by tomorrow, which is exactly what the postmark will say since I just now completed the insane process of assembling and labeling the sucker. I won't find out until October (!!) if I got renewed or if I have to redo some aspect of the portfolio, but it turns out that I'm quite proud of it. Huh. Who knew? I wanted to share with you all since you've been so supportive of me (and teaching in general). Thanks.
