Thing the first: STARS got a great review in the San Francisco Book Review! (It was also duplicated in the Sacramento Book Review, so yay! Two for the price of one!)

Thing the second: I have no idea if the review will be appearing in the print edition but if any of the SF-istas would be so kind as to check (I believe it'll be in the April edition) and be willing to mail a couple of copies to me, I would be forever grateful and would probably send cookies.
Update #Eleventy: My dad's procedure was postponed today, because of lingering infection in one his IV sites. It's now scheduled for Thursday.
Tzepesh is staying at the vet for a few more days while they make sure he's as strong as possible before placing the feeding tube. There is the possibility that this isn't just a bad GI infection, but lymphoma.
hello beep. I love you all and I hate to have to ask this again. But can I get a round of job~ma for DH? He _should_ be fine, his co. thinks he's great, but job~ma needed all the same, sadly for about five weeks. Signed, thanksCompanyIneededthis
A little pet ~ma. Sassafras got away from the dog walker at noon today, and is missing in D.C., about 5 miles from home. I came home to take care of the baby after 5 hours of trying to find her, and now my DH is down there.
I haven't been at a computer very much in the past 24 hours. My dad had a defibrillator/pacemaker installed today. Everything went well and he should be discharged and on his way home tomorrow. Very pleased, but double dog tired. Thanks for all the ma, support and encouraging words.
Update the last: My dad is sprung and on his way home. Instead of sleeping 12 hours straight, like I should, I am going to see the Pixies. Thanks for all the -ma
Kitty update: We got to bring Tzepesh home today, and he didn't have to have a feeding tube put in. He's going to be on a bunch of meds for a while, but right now he is in the kitchen, happily scattering kibble around while he eats.
Looks like I could be using some job~ma. Man, I just came off a bad weekend.
Driving by to request cat~ma. Victor is in the hospital. Briefly, he's having problems with a number of organs, including a partially collapsed lung. The vets are still doing tests, but the prime candidates are FIP, lymphoma, and systemic infection.
We're hoping for anything but FIP. FIP is fast, painful, and non-treatable. If it's that, we'll probably put him to sleep immediately. Even lymphoma would be treatable.
He's on heavy-duty antibiotics. When we visited him yesterday, he was acting more like his old self -- even had a healthy appetite. So we're hoping.
