Update on the FiL:
Lewis took the red eye last night and landed in Jax early this morning. After arriving at the hospital, he discovered that his dad had been improving slowly and steadily since yesterday afternoon, which is definitely huge. It's going to continue to be a marathon, but they used a drug on him for the blood pressure, which was super low and impeding the kidney and liver function, that stabilized him, he hasn't run a fever since early yesterday, and he's conscious and mostly lucid.
Lewis says he has some periods where he seems pretty out of it-- that could be because his oxygen levels have been a little wonky, although at least his lungs remain clear, or it could be the meds. Likewise, his fine motor control seems a little compromised at the moment, probably for the aforementioned reasons.
But at least no backslides, so that's good. Thanks so much for all the good thoughts and prayers everyone. I'm sure they're helping.
A few weeks ago I made a request for birthday cards for K-Bug. She turns 21 later this month and I'm putting together a "party in a box" with a bunch of things in groups of 21 plus cards from friends and family.
So many of you have read/watched her grow up. I believe she was a mere 13 at the Nilly-que. Anyway, if you would like to send her birthday wishes, send a note to my profile addy and I'll send you my snail addy. I will be sending the box to her at the end of next week. Thanks!!!
Well, the Apocalypse did indeed, arguably, come -- but my friend Yoko is alive and well and finally got internet access this morning.
I was going to request some serious -ma for my cousin and her son who are in Japan (he's stationed there as part of the military) but we finally got word that they are OK. So just some stay-safe-ma would be good then.
What Frank said, only for one of my LJ friends of long standing (honorh, in case any of you haven't been on LJ and know her from Buffy days). She was close to the epicenter, and while she's finally been found safe in a shelter and has been able to connect with her family, continued safety would be a good thing.
(Also, I'll continue to be dark grey for a while. Busy bee. But email is good.)
My apologies for asking for more ~ma when I'm so hit-and-miss on the board these days, but my uncle has his appointment at Hopkins at 9 am EDT. Safe travel~ma and it's-not-aggressive-cancer~ma would be very much appreciated.
Update on FiL-- he continues to defies the odds and today was moved from ICU to a med/surg floor. Finding out more of the background is truly scary, since apparently a prick of an ER doc nearly screwed up monumentally and if he had, the end result might have been very different.
So, thank you for the ~ma, it's truly powerful stuff. I'll release the heavy duty stuff for those what needs it (Maria, you know you have all of mine) and ask only that gentle ~ma continue to be directed Jacksonville way.
Some happy news. I received the following text message five minutes ago from Nilly:
"With praise and thanksgiving to G-D we're happy to announce the birth of our son, 3.284kg, at 9:12am this morning.* The mother, the excited father and the new born are doing well".
- about an hour and a half ago.
My temp company is sending me to another interview for a temp to hire position today. Can I get a little interview ~ma for 3:00 Central time?
