So, that ~ma I asked for regarding the company I work for? The owner is selling it so she can retire. She negotiated tirelessly to ensure we would all be hired on, at same rates of pay, and to not lose our seniority for things like accruing PTO. The new outfit will take over later this summer, and I have to go apply for my job on Monday. Would appreciate any spare good thoughts for the transition, and many good thoughts for the lady who has taken such good care of us (employees and clients).

Birth, death, illness, new job, vacation...if it's happening to you and you want us to know about it, post it here. These threads are intended for announcements only. Want to offer sympathy or congratulations, or talk about anything? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
If anyone has spare health~ma laying around, I'd appreciate some for my dad. He's checked into the hospital today for tests to see if he's having gall bladder problems or if it's something else.
Let in be nothing~ma for my mom please. She's going through some testing to make sure a couple of spots that showed up on her kidney and liver are CT scan are cysts rather something scarier. She has a ultrasound on the 14th. They don't think it's anything, but it really NEEDS to not be anything. Please.
So, I guess I am returning to the world. Still probably dark grey for a while, but I will lurk and catch up when I can.
I don't have to tell you guys, buffistas are amazing. But I do have to tell you, because my heart is so full from knowing y'all are out there, with everything else that goes on and all your own concerns and can somehow take the time to think of me. I have the beautiful plant Lee brought me on Henry's nightstand where it looks just perfect and truly brightens my day every time I see it. I haven't even taken in everything else you sent with her.
Thank you so much.
Eta: Oh dear lord I just saw my tagline. Wholly inappropriate or perfect, I can't decide.
Well. Appears I have dog: [link]
Our beloved dog Zoe died suddenly tonight. Cause is unknown, but given her age, almost 13, not probably worth investigating. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her humans.
Could I get a bit of ~ma for my mom, please? Her eyesight continues to deteriorate as a result of diabetic retinopathy, and the retinal specialist told her today that she is now legally blind in her left eye. In addition, the retina is completely detached and she essentially has a hole in the back of her eye. She now has to decide if she wants a vitrectomy (gas bubble injected in the back of the eye that will allow the retina to reattach) to restore a good portion of her sight, or leave things as they are. General anesthesia and the absolute necessity of remaining face-down for two weeks after surgery complicate the decision.
So a little right decision~ma and eyesight~ma would not be remiss. Please, please don't let any diabetics in your life neglect their eyesight. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
Apparently my 24 year old nephew josh is going to walk across the US.
Any spare anti-killed/mugged/beaten ~ma would be appreciated.
This is totally random, but please go to MTV TJ and nominate me to be an MTV Twitter Jockey?
I mean, a 41yo mother who grew up in a town where MTV was banned? How cool would that be?!?
Plus, my tweets would force MTV to have to decide how much snark is too much.
If you do, please use my Twitter: @m3ta4 (metaphor)
Thanks!
Hi, y'all.
As many of you know, I got married in a simple courthouse ceremony in April. Well, we are planning on having a backyard reception 9/25 Saturday. We live in Kansas City (Prairie Village, KS) and I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in getting an invite. I know people are way far-flung, but you never know!
It will be just a casual, fun backyard late afternoon/evening event, with dancing from the ipod mix, drinks, food and cupcakes.
Email my profile addy if there's a possibility you can come, and I will send you an invite -- when they get all printed.
