For sale: my house!
Any 'ffistas want to buy my/our awesome townhouse? I don't have pictures to post yet, but it's 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, basement suitable for storage and wine/beer cellaring, private yard with garden beds and 2 great trees and deck (with Weber gas grill! I'd throw in my grill for free for any of y'all.) OFF STREET PARKING! walking distance to town and commuter rail. Quiet street (more or less- it's a short street anyway) original pine plank flooring on the 2nd and 3rd floors, exposed brick and beam throughout, new bamboo hardwood floors in the living room and cherry hardwood in the dining room. Main bathroom is huge and has a jacuzzi tub. CENTRAL A/C. 1400+ SF. Three floors, no waiting. Located in Salem, MA. ~150 years old or so, built when shit was built to last.
The other townhouse in the building (it's a 2-unit townhouse, basically a big ole McIntire District house cut in half) just put their place on the market for $325K (it's the mirror image of our place but they don't have off street parking and I think our yard is superior), so that's where I'd start, but if this can be done without realtors we can all benefit financially.
If I weren't leaving New England I'd never move out of there, I really love this place. But... adventure in far off lands awaits!
If I could get some "please someone rent or buy this place" ma again, superstitious me would be happy. Our potential renters fell through as of today.
Thank you all for your good thoughts our way lately. Bob's surgery to remove his tumor is tomorrow morning (starting 7ish Eastern). It will last for about 6 hours or so and he'll be in the hospital for about 7 days after, depending on how it goes. We've been very lucky in all this. I'm hoping that's the way things continue tomorrow.
My Gmail account got hacked; if you got e-mail from me with the subject line "Hey," please disregard. (If I were really sending spam, I'd send MUCH better spam. You know this is true.)
Sorry.
Super urgent request for some "It's not cancer!" ~ma for my sister in law. My sister just told me that SiL has a tumor behind her right eye!
We're all still in shock. She's a breast cancer survivor so they are really scared.
She's being operated on April 7th. Any ~ma would be really appreciated!
It is official. I just signed and posted my new contract. I am moving from the fine Republic of Texas, back to the State of California. My last day of work here in TX is April 23rd. My first day of work in SoCal is May 17th.
Hi, just a drive by to say I am off to have a baby! :) My due date wasn't until April 5th, but at this morning's appointment she was measuring over 8 pounds, and the doctor is nervous about me being able to handle that big of a baby. (I know, I know, has she not SEEN these hips???) So we're off to check into the hospital for a scheduled induction. By this time tomorrow I'll be a mama! I'm doing just fine, my husband could use some bravery ~ma, he's pretty nervous. :) I'll have internet in the hospital, so will try to update you all in the next couple of days! Wish me luck!
Um.
So, I am getting married next Friday, unless there's a snafu with the courthouse scheduling. Due to house issues, I really can't hammer down a date, or pony up money for an off-site wedding, so there's no practicality in waiting till September.
We'll still have a reception in the fall, and I will keep you all posted. But as far as doing the deed, I'll be an April bride.

Thank you.
Luna Doris has arrived! 8 pounds 3 ounces and 19 inches! She is of course the most beautiful baby ever born!
I labored for 17 hours, and it wasn't fun - I vomited up blood several times, and my epidural was troublesome for a couple reasons. After an hour of pushing in the delivery room, the doctor realized her huge head was stuck and I had to have an emergency c-section. And I do mean emergency - not even time to wait for the spinal block to fully kick in. So I had some pain killers, but I felt the whole surgery (and I swore profusely the whole time). It turned out it was good I got the c-section, the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. Every single minute of agony was worth it!
My husband was AMAZING. He who was worried about passing out when I needed him most went through every minute with me, and didn't even blink when I puked on him, twice. And he's been amazing with Luna so far. We are both completely smitten!!!
