The time has come for an announcement - I am pregnant!
Due date is May 23rd, no idea about gender yet.
First sonogram showed a healthy heartbeat and adorable yolk sac, so it's possible I'm having a chicken.

Requesting that strong Buffista health~ma for all the residents in the group homes that I work at. There has been a confirmed case of H1N1 flu at the work area where several of "my people" work. I had hoped that I would have access to the vaccine before it reached us, as I would hate to either be a vector of disease between the group homes, or down for the count when they needed me most. But the vaccine has not been available here yet.
Okay, I'm a very occasional Buffista (although I may be able to participate more in the coming year due to MAJOR life changes), but this is big news for me. After nearly a year spent working on it, my first-ever album is out. I just received the CDs from DiscMakers today and they should be available via CDBaby in a couple weeks. For Bay Area Buffistae, I'm playing a CD release gig on 10/23/09 and I know at least a couple Buffistas are likely to attend. Details and RSVP here: [link]
You can listen to the album - Songs the Brothers Warner Taught Me - for free here:
You can also buy the album for download there and I'll get 100% of the $ instead of the smaller portion I'll get from iTunes/CDBaby sales. You'll also get a bonus track if you download there.
It's very exciting for me so I hope you'll excuse my posting the news here even though I have been mostly a lurker here for awhile.
If I could request some health-ma, my upstairs neighbor, who's also my landlord, had some kind of accident yesterday. I talked to him around noon as I was going out yesterday, and he was working on the roof. When I got back home last night, nothing looked out of sorts (and the ladder was taken down), but something happened at some point.
According to his brother, he has some cracked ribs, but more critically there's also some kind of swelling in his head. It's obvious he hasn't been conscious since this happened, because the hospital tracked down his brother by calling me (since we're both in the phone listings under the same address).
Could y'all spare a little birthing~ma for my niece. She's at 9 hours and counting. It's her first and she is in a different town than any grandparents...at the moment.
Thanks for the baby~ma!
Elizabeth Ava was born at 10:19 pm on Oct 19 2009 with a weight 5lbs and 14.5 ounces and a length of 19 inches.
My niece, great niece and nephew-in-law are all well and happy!
Okay, seeing as the house ~ma worked so beautifully, could I just beg for a little more ~ma, this time, writing/book related? It would mean the world to me.
Thank you , thank you, thank you, for the ~ma! I got an offer on Carmen from a first choice publishing house! While it's not final by any stretch of the imagination, it's such a HUGE step in the right direction, I can't even begin to tell you. Someone LIKES MY BOOK!!
