Yahoo! Finally some good news from the doctor!
God, where do I start? I'm in remission. The fact that I'm remitting without any medication so far is a *fantastic* sign and bodes very, very well. I'll be on Avonex, a once-a-week injection treatment, within 10 days (I have to make an appointment for someone to come to my house and teach me how to do the injection). She said moving to LA or taking a new, stressful job would be no problem. My vision loss in my left eye is being caused by a lesion, not the optic nerve (the optic neuritis is nearly gone), and once I'm on medication that lesion will shrink and my vision will improve, perhaps even enough to drive again. I can go back to the gym for weightlifting and low-key cardio.
For the first time since July, I feel like I have hope. That this isn't going to be a huge problem. That I still have my life.
*And* there's a new Buffy tonight. Good, good, good.
I have an interview for my job tomorrow at 2pm ADT. Finally! It's been a long, tedious haul - considering the paperwork to make my job permanent was submitted in March.
All available job vibes are appreciated.
I just had to tell you all- I lost 3.4 pounds on the first week of my diet! The best part is that I don't feel like I'm dieting at all. As far as I can tell, the only difference in my eating has been that I now write everything down. I have about 15 pounds left to get to my goal weight.
Posting on behalf of Connie Neil:
Her hubby's surgery to repair herniated disks in his neck was this morning; the procedure went splendidly, he was lucid and bitching half an hour afterwards, and if all continues going well he will be home tomorrow afternoon. They send their thanks for all good wishes and energetic vibing on the part of the Buffistas.
Though I've been fairly dim the past few weeks, I'll be going dark from tomorrow onward, as I am scheduled for every single hour between ten in the morning until ten in the evening on Thursday, and then on Friday I am leaving for a forensics competition in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is close enough to my hometown that I'll be able to see my parents. Which is probably good. Unless the hotel has some nice way for me to connect to the internet, I will be quite dark. Sigh.
Wish me luck.
My mom's birthday today. Kind thoughts appreciated.
My placement agency is submitting me for a part-time games-related editing job, and I really really want it. Could the Hive Mind vibe employment goodness please?
... aaaaaand I just found out a former boss (the one I *liked* at the last job) just got asked by another former manager for my contact info, because they want to see if they can get me on their new team. Meep! So continued job vibe-iness would be spiffy.
My brother lost his house in last Friday's tornados here in the midwest. He's fine, even though he was in the middle of it. All the critters came out fine too.
Good Buffista vibes for him and SIL wading through the insurance maze would be much appreciated.
