Dawn: I think a date should be in a real fancy restaurant, then champagne at a night club with a floor show, then ballroom dancing. Joyce: Unfortunately, we're not dating in a movie from the thirties.

Mea culpa to many buffistas. I joined WAYN on the insistence of a friend, and didn't realize it was sending out an invite to EVERYONE ON MY DAMNED CONTACTS LIST.

Including many, many Buffistas, and WORK CONTACTS.

I'm really sorry. I just did it to get a friend off my back about joining (she's a stewardess.)

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Just as a related heads-up to Erin's post, there's another site out there that does the same thing called reunion.com. My daughter's e-mail contacts got hijacked by it, too.

Trust my rage

so, it seems that I'm always nursing these days and never have free hands to actually type. Lots of lurking, though.

Anyway, I'm looking into buying an Amby Baby Hammock and I seem to remember someone on this board using it or trading one or something. If I get one, I need to have it before I head back to PR so I'm looking for some fast input.

(I'm not sure this is Beep Me-worthy, but I'm thinking the F2F is this weekend so I wanted people to actually see this.)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Anybody doing this twitter thing? I'm TheScrap if you want to hunt me down.

Our wings are not tired

~ma please.

Flying back to San Diego today since Dad is in the hospital. Just got a call from my sister. Apparently it's cancer. I don't really have more details than that.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

After a couple months of drama and things being up in the air, it's confirmed: my husband's accepting a transfer, and we're moving to southeast Washington State.

My favorite part of this is that my current job has agreed to let me stay on long distance, so beginning some time in August, I'll be telecommuting from home. YAY.

And speaking of home, we have an offer in on a house today, and we would really really like it. House-ma through this evening would be appreciated.

May I have a little job-ma tomorrow at 9 am, KC time? I am interviewing for a job at a school at which I think I would really like to teach!

Thanks!

hip deep in pie

I am requesting some health-ma for Pico this morning. He's got a retrobulbar abscess, which is being drained this morning. Because it's behind the eye socket, it requires him going under, which is always a little risky for an older cat. So please send your healthy kitty thoughts Pico's way. (and send some vibes that it's actually an abscess and not a tumour.)
