I may have to seize the cat.

I got a job, whee! I'll be working as an AfterSchool Assistant 8 hours a week. It's a tiny job, but it's just enough to give me the cushion I need beyond my scholarship money.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I'm back at school safely. Moving's a bitch.

And we will call it... "This Land."

My boss announced today that she has sold the company to another printing company. Tomorrow's our last day.

The purchasers are taking some of the staff to handle the expected increase of work they'll get by inheriting our customers, but not many. They don't have a design department, they don't offer that service.

Upshot is, they're interested in adding design services to their menu. Could I work part-time?

Second upshot is, I was thinking about going part-time anyhow.

We'll see how the money works out... I don't believe in coincidences and I don't believe in luck, but good vibes appreciated.

Let me just say that popularity with people on public transportation does not equal literary respect. --Jesse

Halt the discussion while I'm in the caribbean for nine days. I know, there are new shows, but really, it'll be hard to catch up. Thanks.

Haha, like you'd really stop...

A few of my poems won a (unspecified) runner-up prize in the Philadelphia Citypaper's 2002 Writing awards.

It's with regret that I say I'm going to try and go dark for a while.

It's not that I'm addicted to this place, it's just that I'm spending so much time here it's affecting my work -- Oh. Ah. Maybe I am addicted.

It's not normally a compliment to say "you guys are more fun than work" but I really enjoy my work most of the time.

Seriously though, I'm going to try and just come here evenings and weekends for a while, not be logged on all the time, especially now that the new year has started up properly. I want the board to be less of a guilty pleasure and more of a treat I've earned.

Hellbound Equal-Opportunity Nookie Hog

Call this a "back from the near-dead" multipart announcement post:

I am still employed, though the DH has been looking for over six months now. We're filing for Chapter 7 (full discharge) bankruptcy sometime this month due to this. Vibes for us getting our apartment clean (long story) and the job market picking up soon after would be appreciated.

There are other things I could discuss, but I fear this would become a bit Nattery if I did.

I'm probably going to stay semi-dark due to other things eating my computer time *cough*LiveJournal*cough*, but I'm trying to keep in better touch with all y'all again. I miss you guys.

Thrive to spite them

Tomorrow is my big Return to School. I'm rather nervous. I'm going into the legal secretary program at the votech school. Which feels like an underwhelming announcement after all the cool colleges that other Buffistas are attending or have been accepted to, but I'm very excited.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I just finished telling my bosses that the job isn't working out for me. It went pretty well. We haven't set a definite end date, and one of them suggested that I keep it while they look for a replacement and I go ahead and look for a new job. I think I might go that route--it should give me another month or so at my present salary, which is higher than I could hope to make temping.
