Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

Ann, that's a ferret.

Pet~ma would be appreciated. Teddy is being evaluated as a possible candidate for a kidney transplant.

Nothing scheduled yet, but we should know within a couple of days whether anything will need to be scheduled. And whether to start thinking about a F2F with any Philadelphistas, because that's where the surgeon is.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Some safe and healthy mother and baby~ma, if folks don't mind. My pregnant sister is currently in the hospital due to her amniotic fluid leaking and the level is dangerously low. The baby is fine and healthy at the moment, but he's not due until the end of December. They're currently giving my sister lots of fluids to try to outpace the leakage and allow the little one to stay put as long as possible. The doctors say the baby's chances are good right now, but of course the longer he stays where is, the better off he will be.

Compassionately intolerant

Please, could we have some successful surgery, quick healing and minimum pain ~ma?

My surrogate mom, Niki...who has cared for me and done so much more for me than every blood relative I've ever had rolled into one gregarious, loving package, ever could...is in surgery right now having a useless knee replaced.

She's been in pain for years...and then last month, right as she was planning this surgery, she contracted excruciating gout in a wrist. The knee surgery was put off as a result.

Gordon, her 95 year old, functionally blind, hopelessly devoted husband is freaked out far beyond what he is willing to show. Some calm~ma for him would be greatly appreciated as well.

I'm going to be on in-home care duty this weekend. All good thoughts, along with that powerful Buffista energy, are greatly appreciated.

I have a job interview tomorrow morning at 9 AM ADT for a job that would be a good change for me. Can you guys send some that Buffista job-ma my way?

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

I got a job offer today that I am accepting. I will be officially joining the Alliance. I release all residual job-ma that was being sent in my direction.

Mostly lurking...

I'm going to be in the SF area starting next Wendesday, October 24 thru Monday, October 29. I would love to see people. Especially if anyone is free on Monday (which is a long shot, I know). Come discuss in F2F.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

As some of you know already, my mom had a bad fall a couple weeks ago and broke her back. She's been in a skilled nursing home and getting PT, and she's doing better, but her mental function has decreased even more. (She has vascular dementia.) We're looking at nursing homes now; the time when she'll need constant care is fast approaching. So, some coping~ma for my sister and me and a little brain~ma for my mom would be greatly appreciated.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm having surgery for my oft-dislocated shoulder tomorrow morning at 7:45 A.M. (PST). Please send some "don't get an infection and DIE" vibes my way, along with "don't get a blood clot and DIE" vibes and such variations. Also, "make it so my shoulder never comes out again" vibes.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

For those of you watching the news of the fires in SoCal (and remembering that I live in San Diego) - so far, so good for me and mine. The next communities to the North of me are all being evacuated, but my little 'burb is still safe. Our high school is even being used as the evacuation site for the nearby communities.

The air's been barely unbreathable for the last 24 hours or so, and everything's covered in ash, but other than that we're still okay.

Pray for rain, those of you who are so inclined.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

A little, well ... a lot of ~~ma~~ please.

Joe's mom is in the hospital. She had some heart episode - cardiac tachycardia - I think it's called and they're keeping her overnight for observation.
