Compassionately intolerant

I've already asked for ~ma around my mysterious swollen foot issue but the ante has been upped.

My training coach is threatening to put me off the team "for my own good" if, given her not-at-all-medical training deems the situation too dangerous when I go to meet the team on Saturday.

I get that I have been off my feet for the last three weeks, but I'm certain that I can build back up before the Oct 28 event.

My acupuncturist did a great job yesterday (12 pins!) and is doing the treatment again tomorrow. So, please, extra strength healing ~ma if you have any lying around.

Taking this last line to add my ~ma for an easy cure for tommy's mom.

Trust my rage

[x-post with LJ]

I'm off to the mall in a bit to buy...something blue!

(I had an ultrasound to make sure all was okay this morning and it is. Also, in true PR tradition, they gave me 3 ultrasound shots of his penis/testicles, but none of his head/face/body/anything else.)

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Glad to hear the machismo kicks in pre-natally!!!!

Now my thing:

My Mom is in the hospital. She lost consciousness yesterday and when she came to her vision was blurry. Her blood sugar is through the roof, her lung capacity is through the floor, any number of her medications could have caused any of it. They've cat scanned (GOD I hope this doesn't turn out to be neurological.

Any prayers, vibes, small animal sacrifices to cthulu and/or candles lit on Ayn Rand altars are all appreciated. I'm going to try and sleep.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Just heard from my mom that her father is dying.

Mom went from sounding more or less okay around noon to sounding very sad and lost. She's flying up to MA Monday.

This is my last surviving grandparent. I haven't seen him in about 12 years, so right now, this all feels very remote and theoretical. Except for mom being sad and about to walk into a mess of family drama.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Please ping me in e-mail TODAY if you think you might come to Cleveland during Deb's visit for the gallery show and/or the author talk and would like a hotel room. I need to give the hotel an estimate on number of rooms. Dates are 13th-15th--you don't have to stay for all of them. Library talk is the evening of the 13th and the gallery show is the evening of the 15th. Room prices are around $60.00 per night per room. I'd like to keep them that low but I need to contact them asap to do it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Teacup Guy and I are engaged! The universe wanted to be sure we would never forget the night, so we spent it waiting for AAA to come and look at TCG's dead car and then snuggled up in the tow truck on a seat built for one. We're home now. No date yet for the wedding.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Hi everyone. After one of the most difficult months of my life, whose challenges included trying to get my student loans through despite university incompetence and clerical errors, and getting arrested for driving on a suspended license, I have finally managed to get everything in order and will be departing for England on Saturday, with a visa and everything. School starts October 9, and I still have to find a place to live and a part-time job, so things aren't quite over with now. But things are finally good, so any vibes for easy travels would be well appreciated.

Could y'all direct some of that Buffista-vibe-thing my way? The rumors of potential layoffs has already come true for some here, including my boss's boss, and there is going to be a meeting to "discuss the changes" next Monday, the first day of my vacation (of course!). So, any keep-my-job~ma you could send my way would be greatly appreciated!!
