Birth, death, illness, new job, vacation...if it's happening to you and you want us to know about it, post it here. These threads are intended for announcements only. Want to offer sympathy or congratulations, or talk about anything? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
I don't post often but I'm overflowing with announciness, so forgive, please:
My nephew, Dominic, was born on Dec 24th. 7 lbs, 7 oz, about 18 days early. (He just decided he was done cooking, I guess.)
I'd arrived about 10 hours earlier, meeting SIL for the first time.
My little brother is schmoopy happy. So are we.

I've just applied for a job that would constitute a major improvement in my life. Please send Buffista jobma vibes my way.
Thanks

If you're bored, read about the vagaries of the bus-riding life in Los Angeles and all about my thoughts on the latest movie debacles.
I am back home in Dallas. I can't even hope to catch up. Buffistas, as always, have been fucking cool throughout.
Thanks guys.
I've gone grey for the weekend. My evil twin's crappy connection is even more crappy than I remember.
My paternal grandmother died in her sleep last night.
She'd had health problems for much of the year, so it wasn't exactly shocking. I got to see her one last time at Christmas, well worth it in spite of all the other family weirdness.
My grandma was a very kind & sweet woman. Even when expressing concern over her mtf lesbian daughter, she was patient and never raised her voice. That probably came from the certainty that God was on her side. Still, she was a sweetie and I'll miss her a great deal.
Apologies -- the above post should have read "mtf lesbian granddaughter."
I have registered for the LA marathon March 2, 2003. Vibes for injury free training and a few more pounds lost prior to that date would be appreciated. I haven’t made my air reservations yet because I am deciding how long to visit and if I want to spend a little time before the race or after. I hope to meet some LAistas and hopefully hear a few of you cheering from the sidelines.
