The bad news is, my computer is frelled. The good news is the nice lady at the Apple store waived the $100 "we opened it up but didn't repair anything" fee. So, um, anyone want or need the following things, make me an offer? (at yahoo, mearagirl)

battery for a 12" powerbook, only a month old
1 gig of RAM for a 12" powerbook
pretty sleve thing (go here
any other random accessories you might need I might have? Lemme know.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I guess it's my turn to ask for some mysterious ~ma. Some wisdom~ma sent in my general direction would be highly appreciated, as I have a major decision to make.

Thank you.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

The earthquake in Hawaii yesterday was quite near to my parents' home. They are okay, with some (hopefully) minimal damage to their house & land. They are in the process of selling, so -ma for continued safety & a smooth path to the sale would be appreciated.

My cousin was driving his girlfriend to work and narrowly missed being struck by boulders on the highway. All my relatives had some minor damage (broken glass, that sort of thing) but mostly no injuries and no catastrophic damage.

I'm just grateful everyone's all right, and hope for no flooding and a good recovery. They're all used to earthquakes and so are being philosophical about it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am 9 weeks into the creation of a brand new Buffista, due to arrive on June 2nd.

(And just so I'm not being too coy -- yes, that means pregnant!)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Mostly to keep y'all in the loop...

As some of you know (I made a flocked post about it on LJ), my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer this week.

That's the bad news.

The good news, insofar as anything cancer related can be good news, is that it looks like this was caught really early. Early enough that right now, the recommended course of treatment is a lumpectomy and radiation, no chemo.

Those of you who already knew--thank you. You've been amazing, and I couldn't have made it through the week without you. (Those of you who didn't know, I apologize for not telling you sooner. Rest assured, I'm certain you'd have been amazing, too. I just... kind of needed a space to pretend everything was still normal for a few days while we waited for the path and all that jazz. So I guess you've been amazing, too, and without even knowing it!)

Up with the sun

Um, hi. Long time no see. You all look great. Etc.

I'm pregnant and my due date is June 8. We had a sonogram this week and everything looks perfect. We're very happy and excited.

I'm still too overwhelmed by life to be reading the board much, but if anyone wants to drop me a note, the profile e-mail works. *hugs*

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

~ma for my mom, please. Thyroid cancer. They detected early, so once they take it out, she should be fine. Still.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

As some of you know, I'm planning to go to Israel this March, during spring break, for an Alternative Spring Break volunteer program. It's sponsored by Jewish National Fund, and we're going to spend a week in the north of Israel doing things like replanting forests, fixing up partks, repainting buildings, restocking bomb shelters, and otherwise repaairing damage that was done to the land by the rockets this past summer.

In order to go, each of us needs to raise $800 in donations. I don't want anyone to feel pressured, but it's a great cause, it's tax deductible, and it's a good way to support something that's going into creation, rather than destruction, in the middle east. If you'd like to donate, I've got the link up under friendslock in my livejournal, or email me at my profile address and I'll send it to you. (I don't want to put the link here, since it links to my real name.)

Thank, everyone.
